So the other day my hub/axle got loose so i tightened the cone nuts and it was perfect then after less than a day of riding it was loose again.

Tighten the cone nuts a bit harder. Not sure on what to do besides that, it's always worked for me. I'm sure some other people will chime in.

What hub is it? Pictures would be helpful.

If it's a cup-and-cone(unsealed) hub, you have to tighten the cone and the locknut against each other so, grease the threads, get it so you like how it spins and then tighten the cone and locknut against each other.

If it's a sealed hub, grease the threads and crank it down.
