So i currently run a front load primo and just got a colony official stem (front load) but i am having second thoughts. Should i get a top load? I see more people with top loads.

do you feel the need to have higher bars? If no, stay with a front load. If you want your bars higher, get the topload...Its very simple. You see people with toploads because they want a higher rise/bar. Instead of buying higher rise bars, they choose a stem. Seems as if most think both styles of stems work exactly the same and it just a look/trend. Each design serves a difference purpose. All your answers are above.

I just put on a cult v2 top load stem I bought off a guy on here and I've always used front load and I am blown away by how much better the new top load feels. It's a total different feeling riding my bike now. I have the rig 9 inch bars so it's extra tall and I'm standing more upright and my back appreciates it. I noticed it's easier for me to attempt rear wheel manuals as well. Best part I've bought for my bike. Just my .2 cents

Just so some dont get confused, if you have 9 inch bars with that topload and bought 10 inch rise bars with a frontload, youd get the same feeling. I ride Elevenz with a frontload and Perfects 10's with a 30mm rise topload , they feel exactly the same. I do hope people start to understand how all this works
