Odyssey Thunderbolt if I was in the market, but I'm happy with my Fit Indents so far. (Powerbites look like MTB cranks to me, picky picky, but just not for me)

Budget is $170 "right now", and he never mentioned needing a bb set. He'd be looking at an extra $35 over his current budget for Thunderbolts and an Odyssey bb kit.

Maybe he's got a bb already? And if he does, then he needs to narrow it down by spindles that will fit his bearing set.

Demolition Revolts and new BB is within your budget. Like mentioned above current BB size and condition may help ur decision a bit.

Mine has American bb but I can get a mid from a friend.

Do you have bearings and spacers and everything like a bb kit comes with? The inside diameter of the bearings (mm) determines which size spindle you need....so if you have a bb kit you want to use, measure that first.

Is it a sealed BB or unsealed? If it's unsealed, you'll need new cups for the mid bb you get from your friend because the unsealed cups won't fit.

The American is unsealed and the mid is sealed

Thunderbolts.

You can find them cheaper on ebay, Dans has another 15% off promotion starting tomorrow, and Empire still has the "tenner" code. Personally, I would scoop them from empire: $175 shipped with the code.

Just make sure it's a 22mm mid bb if you get the Thunderbolts.

It’s all bmx

DansComp 15% Code 46L2. Just tried it and brought the Thunderbolts w/ free shipping to $152.96.

Then,
On empire, you can get their American BB kit (in 22mm)...use the code "tenner"....$27 plus shipping. Or try to find cups to fit your friend's mid bb into your frame.

DansComp usually has the Mechanik BB that fits mid into American cups...they are out of stock with that configuration though, so maybe wait a while, as the new 15% code is good until the end of Sept.

So many good cranks available these days. Thunderbolts are great. If you get them from us use the code "PARTY" and you'll stay well under budget. We even have a set of Thunderbolt cranks in our "Used Crap" section on the website.
