Hey Dude, sorry for being so late getting back to you, the new job gives me allot more time to ride my bike so I've been doing more of that then internetting...
if your talking about at walmart? Yes. it was a part time thing, in winter the hours sucked, in summer i was getting about 38 to 40 hours a week and i started at 8.40 and ended at 10.00 per hour. just be prepared to deal with allot of bs from the store about the bike rack needing to get filled 24/7 (when they don't schedule enough assemblers to do it) while also doing store displays, customer order bikes, fixing returned bikes, bbq grills, and probably getting pulled away to do other stuff. also the management doesn't care about how well the bikes are done they just want the rack filled. honestly your better off trying to get into a bike shop. but starting at a department store could be a good way to get your foot into the door of a bike shop if you know what i mean... but if you wanted to try and apply for it its under lawn n garden section(even when the bikes are in toys, why they do that I don't know...) under the assembler jobs.
and guys haha I dont know about discounts or anything yet
i was shocked to see some ody Mpegs the other day their, so Who knows. but its all road and commuter bikes at the new job mostly they do get QBP so im sure I'll be able to take advantage of that. but im going to look into extra trainning they offer like from trek and specialized, and park, and hopefully if I get a good tax return next year i'll buy myself a big park tool set and setup a nice work bench at home.
