So, for my A2 Product design I have decided to make a roof mounted bike rack. What features would you guys like to see incorporated into the product, ATM i have that it is going to be multipurpose, low profile and a few other things. Please bear in mind that this will have to fit on the roof of a classic mini as I do intend to use this, so nothing too ambitious tongue

Cheers
Zach

Sorry to thread jack, but how is A-level product design? I'm considering taking it next year.

Depends, different schools do it differently;y. But the exam is piss easy. It is essentially GCSE level stuff, just a bit more detail

better straps to lock on the bike. Idk how the bike racks are there but here the straps that hold the bikes to the rack always break or snap. Maybe do an alternating rack like first bike is bars closetest to windshield and rear wheel to the back. second bike would be bars mount back and back wheel is up front and third like the first. of course the bikes are upside down. just a few ideas

three points of tie down would be great. front wheel lock in hook like you find on most racks, rear wheel ratchet strap that clamps down on rim to rack. and for a third try an arm that comes of from the rack and grabs onto the down tube for more stability when driving.

Oh, the bike is mounted upside down so it can't wobble. Forgot to say.

Sketched this up real fast... if you're proud of your bike and want to show it off, this is the rack for you.
