I'm looking for parts for an Eastern Bidirectional hub

My bidirectional driver is shot. There is a spacer inside which is mangled and the locknut is even more mangled. This means that I can't tighten the locknut because it hits the driver.

Does anyone sell these parts? Or is this a throwaway? If it is garbage can I get a driver for this hub? If nothing else I'd like to keep this around as a backup wheel.

Also - I'm surprised that I cannot source things like spacers and locknuts online anywhere. I am new to BMX so maybe I have not discovered the sources but where the hell can I get spacers and locknuts for 14mm axles? Like, I cannot even find a 14mm washer for the axle nut.

I got an old unsealed Birectional that's just missing the bearings. It will probably have what you need. I'll ship it to you for 20 bucks if you want.

His his sealed, it won't work.

The bearings are pretty standard, Danscomp sells them, so does Albes. I THINK the backside bearing is a 6902 bearing, and the front side (closest to the locknut) bearing is a 6802, but I'm not sure cause it's been awhile since I messed with one of those hubs

The locknut, you can use almost any for that hub. This would most likely work, the drive-side one anyway, since all it is is just a locknut with a face that meets the inner bearing race it SHOULD work no problem.

The spacer though is tricky since it needs to be a certain length which I don't know. Email or call Eastern, they're supposedly out of business but also supposedly still in business so idk worth a shot.

I had one back in the day...not sure what happened to it. I might have sold it to someone.

I've had a lot of parts disappear on me.

Hoenstly you could probably source most of those parts from bearing shops or Dans, and then for the spacer, if yours is a little too short, try looking into some cheap pipe that is the same inner and outer diameter, and cut it and file it to length.

All of the bearings in the hub are in good shape. Super smooth and no problems there.

Thanks for the link to the Odyssey locknut it does seem like it could work. Also, I am surprised that there is only one locknut on the drive side. Are most cassette BMX hubs like this? I understand that the locknut pushes against the spacers which push against the inside bearing race and that you adjust the pressure with the locknut - what surprises me is that there is not another nut used to keep the locknut in place. As it appears to me that the outside of the locknut meets the inside of the dropout.

Frankly, even the term locknut is a bit of a misnomer as I consider a locknut to be a nut that faces another nut, "locking" the faced nut in place.

You should email Jon, he is one of the owners of Eastern. He's got this.

EDIT: I live in Sauk Rapids (by St. Cloud), so if you make it up to the St. Cloud plaza hit me up.

We still have some Eastern small parts too if you're desperate. I have that driver in unsealed as well as pawls and springs and some other stuff.

Would be a bit more to ship from Canada, but with the strong US $ it might not be so bad.
