The whole point of these bar ends is not utility, but to make a statement. It's to show that you are in a higher class than others. That's the whole point of wearing expensive brands like louis vuitton...you don't buy their stuff just because it's warmer or more comfortable, but more so that you can separate yourself from those who can't afford stuff like that.

alright. I will admit that I no longer hold the same opinions about subrosa. i think the rail isn't too badly priced, and is good for those who live in places without lots of spots.
However, the bar ends that I wanna make are not overpriced. You aren't just paying for the materials. You are paying for the prestige you earn with these bar ends. They are a badge of honor and economic distinction.
I'm not an elitist, and I don't believe in eugenics (as bmxsteve99 accused). I simply want to give the wealthy, the better, another way to not just show their status, but to feel their superiority.

Express themselves. By paying huge amounts of money on a part that gets smashed in a week and no one ever notices. Definitely won't fail. This isn't like your local company that can produce nice looking things, because those things are actually useful.

After consulting with my business partners, we've decided that perhaps bar ends are not the best way to go, since (as many of you said), they get smashed up quickly and are not easily noticeable.
And so, we have decided to make custom seats and seat posts, as these are much more effective ways of expressing yourself.
Currently, we have planned:
SEAT POSTS:
material: metal ($45), plastic ($30), wood ($50, mahogany, maple, oak)
engraving: + $10
color: the same ones as the bar ends, except oil slick is +$25
extra: diamond studs (125) and gold flakes (100)

SEATS:
all have an ergonomic foam base, pivotal or tripod ($40 base price)
material: metal (25) plastic (15)
style: dark blue denim (+$25), genuine leather ($50), cow hide ($75)
custom insert: we can put a custom message or design under the cover (prices vary, but minimum would be around $50)

IMPORTANT: if you have any other special requests that you don't see above, feel free to ask, and we can offer a price estimate.

Anyone who knows anything about bikes would know that wood seatposts with diamond studs and gold flakes and seats made out of metal with ugly designs on them are super impractical. You can't put diamond studs on a seatpost, because then it wouldn't fit in the seattube. And nobody in their right (or left) mind would ever have a seat made of metal, especially the weight weenies. This is dumb.
