You can make this into a 3/8 female pretty easily.

Cut the hollow axle at the bearing hardware and tap the inside of the axle to 3/8x16 OR 24 tpi and buy axle bolts for it.

Or you can make shemale by cutting it 2mm past the hardware and doing the same.

Lolz lets all get 48h wheelz bcuz shawn burnz is punkr0ck and rides them even though i dont do 10 feet dropz like him i need wheelz wayyy strunger than 36h.

36h is strong enough, truing a wheel every month or so isnt that hard. If someone here posts a video of them doing some huge drop id be happy to have an ass made out of myself.

48h is not stupid. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Jimmy Levan jump the Austin church gap with 48h wheels.. Then several years later, someone else tried it but with 36h wheels, and his rear wheel exploded upon impact? 48 is a tad overkill but not if you're jumping off roofs daily.

48H = Less flex, no chance of your wheel failing, and you pretty much never have to true your wheel.

BTW, guess who the fuck it is bitch. :D

That's what im saying. if youre josh stricker, sean burns, alex liiv or jimmy levan i can understand. but it's kind of silly to get 48h if youre just riding normal shit just because bonedeth makes them and sean burns rides them.

also im pretty sure at last year's interbike burns said they'd come in 36h "if you're too much of a weight weenie" or something along those lines (i am not accusing you of being a weight weenie, i think thats what he said) so maybe you just want the hub for its internals

Why the fuck are people saying that people just want 48h wheels because Sean Burns and all the other people run them? I could care less what the pros run. I'm sorry if I don't live up to the expectations of a rider riding 48h because I don't do 10ft drops everyday but If I'm gonna spend my money why not get something that is stronger even if it is over kill why not?

48h is a trend. just like heavy bikes. 36h is just as strong. there's no reason to get 48h other than it is trendy.

|

10/16/2013 3:19 PM

48h wheels looks cool and holds well, if you never really do huge drops you wouldn't really need them.

How much are they gonna be?

I'm gonna need bigger bars

Nope, I started riding like 8 months ago. But we have 36h now, which is proven to be just as good as 48h. That's like wanting to go back to a standard headset and american bottom bracket.
