At Sportchek I see they have 2 GT bmx bikes that are a bit higher end looking. Ill put links to each bike with their specs below. Are they worth the price?

The wise sig. is the best bike out of the two. Look for Cro-Mo frame, forks, I would stay away from hi-tin frames, forks. Double wall rims and sealed bearings always a plus. Shop around for something that fits you, not what is popular..

Yeah I was looking at the Wise Sig. It has a 2pc crank... Is that a huge downgrade from a 3pc?

And also, is the GT Wise Sig worth the $500 or should I go to a local bike shop and pick out a sunday, fit or WTP around the same price mark?

No reason why you can't check out both?

If you have a good local shop, they should let you ride a few bikes to see how they feel. You can also hop on that bike at Sport Chek and see if you notice a difference.

With that in mind, I bet the bike out of the real shop is assembled better - or at least it should be. It could also very likely be better quality and be from a brand that's a bit more involved in BMX.

It's a good time to buy a bike too as a lot of shops will be having sales on 2015 bikes.
