Haha, its not mine but ya. Sad part is I just bought his S&M from him. Either way my Chrome Bonedeth and my chrome Pandora were flawless. I'd be pissed.
Especially from a company that says they stand behind their quality products. Then gives a B.S answer like that.

Did you read Sundays response to him in the comments?
Very first comment. Doesnt sound like they are willing to do anything.

Here I copied their response,
Sunday Bikes It's an unfortunate part of bmx frames especially if you live in high humidity areas or along the ocean. It's only on the surface and shouldn't cause any issues.

break that frame and ill buy him a new one. read up on some metallurgy before posting dumb things and calling out a company like that. i bet when the frame left it looked good. ride the dam thing.

I'm really surprised Sunday failed to mention that the chemicals used in the plating process are corrosive, and in all honesty, it looks like the plating people failed to properly rinse the frame after it came out of the bath. As far as the corrosion treatment, or black magic coating, I doubt they do it to the plated frames, as it would require being done after the plating process, and that would raise the price of each frame by quite a bit.

Too bad Sunday uses a rust proof finish inside & out of the frames. I have tons of scratches & shit on my frame & have ridden it in the rain and there's 0 rust anywhere.

a "bullshit answer" ?

Pretty sure they gave you an honest answer. What they said was correct, high humidity areas/areas along the ocean will cause that to happen. If you're expecting a new free frame for a little rust, then you are a fool. It's surface rust. It's not gonna harm anything, and even if it does.. They have a lifetime warranty. Just ride it.

|

I read all the comments on that Facebook post. You're a Whitney little bitch, just fucking ride it and stop complaining.

What I meant by BS answer was them saying its normal. Its obviously not normal even with their own products apparently when people have checked there new or newer Sunday's as well as other brands and not found this issue.
Structural issue.... maybe not........ but isnt it easier for them as a company to atleast offer to make it right somehow?
On a side note the chrome itself looks great from what I see in that pic. Haha!

I think he probably got one that slipped through the cracks or sat in a damp or humid warehouse somewhere but does that mean he should have to settle for a frame thats rusting already?
He says its pitted not just surface so I dont think it just started.
As far as saying the whole Sunday product line is shit I wont go that far, and I am not a fan of theirs, I just know every company has its issues or defects etc. Its all about the customer service and keeping the consumer happy, just like any buisiness.

|

9/16/2013 8:33 PM

How else will they make it right? They're not gonna give you a free frame & cover shipping costs to ship it back to them & ship you out a whole new frame free from rust. Maybe if you made a huge fuss they'd let you return it at your expense but that's stupid. It's fine, just ride it.

You also talked to them on Facebook meaning the person commenting to you was probably just some dude they hired to handle social media & knew a bit about Sunday. It's possible Jim C or Logan at Full Factory was talking to you as I've talked to them on twitter before, but don't judge a company just because of social media. If it's THATT huge of a deal, email them & see what they can do but it's fine to ride it how it is.

I get what your saying, Its not mine just someone I know. But anyway they also say "Every frame is rustproofed inside and out" as seen in link below and the clearly show a pic of a chrome broadcaster in the "Found in these products" pictures right below the description.
http://www.sundaybikes.com/technology/black-magic-coating/#/0

It doesnt say not on chrome parts etc. So either way I think it falls on them. Either it got missed and slipped through or the advertised it wrong to the public. Even says their goal is to help product last longer and NOT FAIL due to RUST.

Personally, I'd be pissed. You spend over $300 on a frame and it already has rust out of the box? I don't think I would of blasted them on Facebook about it. You should of returned it from the place you ordered it from.

There answer was kinda shitty TBH. Have they ever heard of climate controlled warehouses?

Read what Chuck said about the chrome plating & having to do the black magic finish after the chroming process.

A quick google search for other chrome broadcasters confirms this, none of them have it but all the other colors do. The inside of my BB & headtube are black, meaning Chuck is correct. To rust proof them inside, they'd have to do it afterwards & then up the price which would be pointless anyway since the Broadcaster is their "Budget frame" pretty much. Tell your buddy to suck it up, Sunday isn't to blame for any of it.

Except they dont state that on their site it states "Every frame". Not to mention his came without the "included" seat clamp and chain tensioners.
Either way I think Sunday needs to accept some responsibility for this one. Its bad advertising and missing pieces at the least.

The chrome broadcaster is fairly new, they probably just didn't update anything about it besides add pictures.

As for missing pieces, contact them about it. Don't get on Facebook expecting a direct "Hey send it in/we'll send you this" kinda thing. EMAIL them instead of trash talking them in a slew of comments they probably turned off notifications for anyway.

That could well be that its new but they should stand behind the description wether error or not.
I think his original intent was to get a reply from them but the one he got kind of set off a bunch of other people. He didnt really trash talk them that I saw other than not being happy and then posting a copy of the rust proofing and include clamp etc stuff from there site and saying he was beginning to feel, in his words i believe "jewed" And stated that it wasnt a good first impression as it was the first frame he actually bought new.

On another note you obviously are a Sunday fan and must have your reasons, I never really have been but do try to keep up with the product line as some of the stuff looks pretty solid and some of the frame geo looks good. I will say I actually really liked the Tall T's I had other than watermellon green didnt go with anything else on my bike. smile But they felt good and were solid strong bars. And they didnt rust Haha!
