I was planning on getting a profile setup but many people on here are against profile. With that being said this deal just popped up for $175 shipped. Worth it??
"back is a profile mini laced to a haro race rim and the front is a bsd street laced to a cinema 777" comes with wheels, hawk tires, pegs, and hub guards

All I can say is that there is a good reason so many people run profile hubs and wont ride anything else, the only reason they get hate on here is because they are currently one of the cool ones to dislike (same as Sunday as couple of years ago and Haro before that ect ect) that is a great deal as well

Yeah I've never heard of anything bad about profile until here haha. But he said I'm second in line for it so hopefully it works out.

id say get it but im not sure about that haro race rim and make sure it doesnt have profile wobble

|

It's online...He claims they're all in perfect condition and had them for a year only. If I can;t get it I won't be upset, but if I can then it'll work until I break it I guess

Nope. I don't like them very much because the axles arent that good and people mess stuff up constantly on street.

If you ride park and trails and race, theyre fine

Profile is my second favorite, those tree straight pull hubs are the bomb
The sound of that mini will be great!

I ride to stay on two wheels and have fun!

Profile hubs are fine, just I would personally never run them. I'm well aware they can be ridden for street & grinded on, but I just see them more as race/trails hubs.

I have heard they do develop a wobble after awhile though, and if you grind without a hub guard, I've seen flanges snap. But otherwise you should be fine .

I don't grind, so the hub guards and pegs are coming off. I ride trails like 95% of the time and bowls the rest. I only hangout with trail riders so that's probably why I never hear anything bad about them haha

for trails and non grinding park they are awesome
but peg use isn't good even though they say it can handle it

There fine for pegs, you just have to put the actual profile hub guards on. Never seen a set messed up with the right guards on (always by a moron with no guards and 4 pegs)

I have seen the axles bend and snap... I'm sure they CAN handle it, but generally they don't. I also really don't like the allen key insert front hub bolts, i know they can be replaced, i just know i would break that.

LOve my Profile hubs, have a few sets and elites(wish they were lsd, bought them a few years ago before lsd versions were released) I also like Tree hubs and Im gonna give the BSD hubs a try. I wish Profile would make a female axle that takes 14mm bolts.

I had minis for a year or two and they were super solid, even with peg use smile my fat ass never bent an axle.

Profiles are great for trails and the minis are good for street too. I run a mini in the front with a peg and it holds perfectly fine. I'm not smooth in my grinds either.
