Is top tube size that important?

I'm 15 and I'm 6'0" (a lot of people say I'm like 6'1" or 6'2" but I personally think I'm 6'0") and I ride a 20.25 inch top tube. It feels comfortable because I'm used to it, but is it too small? When I record myself, it seems as if I'm hunched over too much.

People will freak out about it , it's honestly nothing CRAZY but it helps a bit . I know at a shitty shop nearby theres a Goliath that rides a 20" and he's giving cyclops a run for his money

before I joined this site, I did not really know that there were rules about body height and top tube length. I just got on my bike and rode. I have now been on bikes with different top tube lengths, and honestly, I notice no difference. I am 6'0" as well. I notice way more difference in bar height than anything else. This might have to do with TT length, but I don't think so.

It's personal preference. If it feels OK for you, keep it. But I'd recommend trying a longer tt, ride a friends bike or something, you might like the extra room.
I'm also 6', I can't stand toptubes shorter than 21"

I'm 5'8" and ride a 21.125 and LOVE it

I'd be willing to be that you would feel better on a longer bike. I rode 20 inch top tubes for YEARS (i'm older than anyone else on this site, been riding longer than anyone on this site) and didn't realize how much better a longer bike was until I got one.

5 10 riding a 21.25 frame and I'm loving it don't find it slows my spins at all and it makes tricks like Moto whips turndowns and lookbacks feel so much better, I've rode everything from 20.25 to 21.25 and I won't go under 21 ever again , anything 20.75 I find I smoke my knees on my stem allot

I would not recommend riding a 20.25" frame if you're 6'0", especially if you're hunching over when you ride.
I recommend a 21" frame for your height. I'm 5'10" and I ride a 21" frame. Sometimes it feels too long for me when I do more techy stuff, but when I ride park and do manuals it feels perfect.

i think it is important to the individual.. but its really preference.. i think its ridiculous when people say "oh that 20.5 is too small/long for you" if you feel good on it than you should ride it.. no parts or geometry is going to give you any significant edge in progression.. only spending more time on your bike will do that

i like long bikes too.. they just feel good to me.

and for the OP: Adam banton is an example of this.. he's 6'1 and he rode 20.5 for the longest (i think he's on a 20.75 now) most 6' or taller wouldn't consider anything under 21.

its just not that big of a deal. you ride what you feel good on.. if its long its long, if its short its short.
