I wouldn't suggest using a good bike but if you do if you dry it and regrease everything it shouldn't be a problem. If I was going to do it I would use something cheap I found on Craigslist like $50 or less

Keep in mind frames have holes inside them, so water might take a LONG time to get out of it, without disassembly.

I would build a junker for it.
