Any input on this? i guess there is not even a point to ask what brand to get:p WTP/Stolen/Kink/Haro?
Is it worth getting a new one? or should i like hunt down a 250-350$ WTP Envy second handed?

yea it's more beneficial to buy used because A it's cheaper and B it could come staked with better parts.

Unless you have deep pockets buy a cheap used bike. Slowly swap out parts once you find out what works for r u best. Doing it this way you will learn more about each individual part and get practice installing shit. I'm no time you will have a custom bike that works for you.

Great. some good input i can put to use. the biggest problem currently in Norway, its not that "many" bikes close to me, and most of them are too small in size. thats why ive kinda jumped over to newbikes.

But in general you say if you wanna buy a new bike, you should put atleast 800-1000$ into it? these 350-400$ new bikes are not worth it?

If you can't get a decent used bike I would say get a cheap complete. 300 to 400 range. Ride it and if it feels good then just replace parts when the break or wear. If you don't like the bars replace them. If you don't like the tires replace them. Most of the other components won't change the feel of the bike so replace them as the break.

Only other thing that may feel different is plastic vs metal pedals.

I just started riding again so not sure what brands are better than others. I hear we the people have good completes and also Sunday. But I'm sure some younger guys know more than me about whats hot now.

there is a huge difference between a 20" frame and a 21" frame. if you are around 6ft get a 20.75" or a 21. I'm 5'9 and ride a 20.75" but want to switch to a 21'. BMX is all about preference you'll understand more once you start riding. As for parts i'd recommend S&M/FIT, KINK,ODYSSEY/SUNDAY, and TREE. If you do go down the road of buying a new bike look into what materials the bike is made out of. Try to avoid hi-ten steel and look for chromoly. Fit and Sunday have some of the best starter bikes so i'd look there.

Forks, frame, stem, sprocket, hell even a seat can change the way your bike feels.

Yes I changed seats because I wanted a softer one. Shem I agree. But forks and frame is some new shit. I have hoped on a few different bikes and never noticed a difference. I don't think if he is a beginner it will make much of a difference. Shit back when I rode there was one size for everything. We didn't have all the different size options.

You did help prove my point though buy a cheap bike and he can slowly change out parts to make it fit him perfect.

The info about it say
" FRAME 4130 crmo down tube. 1020 hi-ten" not sure what this means tbh.
and the Fork is also hi-ten:p

7/6/2015 8:31 AM

Sooo ive come to the conclusion that if i want a full chromoly frame with fork, i will need to get in the 1000$ range, wich i won't do for a first time beginner bike tbh =)
