On local FB, $300. I'm 6'1" 200 lbs so looking for something 21" TT and sturdy. You want to believe people but it's good to verify. I'm told it has Shadow hubs, Animal rims. Can anyone tell looking at it if it's a good go at $300?

Looking to play park, so if it is, I'm wondering if the 74° HA and 14.25" CS will be a huge issue, maybe it's more of a dirt/trail bike.

Thank you.

That bike would probably be fine... but not for $300. Maybe like $200... and also those aren't Shadow rims theyre the stock Revenge Industries pinned rims... I would be fine but this bike would be way better in materials quality and the parts used.... It's $400 Full chromoly frame fork and bars also chromoly cranks and double wall rims front and rear and sealed hubs and bottom bracket...

Or even the Kink Whip...

But the Whip is $415 and it has the same specs I listed above the Shovelhead (For example, Chomoly frame fork bars etc.)

Those look like stock hubs honestly. The only new parts appear to be the stickers and brake cables on my quick check over.

I am sick and tired of the "cliques" that this sport has recently developed. We should embrace the fact that we all ride a little kids bike, and not worry about the small details. When you take riding in its most basic form, we are all the same.

What do you mean "except Chromoly frame fork, bars, etc)?

To your question, I think that bike would be fine, but as stated, it's high. $200 max.

Btw, if the stickers look new, & maybe the paint looks fresh, be wary. As an alternative, there are several great deals on the for sale area right now that would fit the bill (frames).

Fuck no, message whoever posted that and tell him to quit trying to rip people off.

That's a bone stock 2016 Fit Pledge, $350ish brand new. There are no aftermarket parts on that except maybe the brake cable as it looks like he replaced that, but that's it. No Shadow hubs, no Animal rims.

Or tell him you'll give him about $60 cause I wouldn't pay anywhere near $300 for that hunk of shit.

Hey. Thanks a Fit Pledge bike. Not a BF. Check this link. http://fitbikeco.com/22730/

Also it all looks stock including the hubs. Brand new that bike sold for $369 or so. Up your budget to $399 and a lot of the new Fit bikes are full chromoly with fully sealed wheel sets. Below are a couple options under $399 and with a 21" top tube.

I did ask if he repainted it because the color didn't look like the Fit BF that I could find.

Buying used is such a PITA as has been addressed on here. Most people have no idea what they have. Ask for pics and they use a potato.

2015 Subrosa Malum popped up for $300 obo.

Lots of stuff in the classifieds, but I don't have ANY parts to throw at a build, so I'd be in it for quite a good bit of money piecing one together, if the 4 race bikes I've built for me and the kids are any indicator.

Thought about buying something with lots of good parts and just swapping to a different frame, but haven't thought that too far out yet.

Part of me just wants to buy the Cult Devotion from J&R for $460 shipped from J&R Bikes with their current 15% off sale, and save the hassle of guessing, dealing with people, and driving.

I'm not sure what other completes are better than that in the mid-$500 MSRP range.

I like the Kink SXTN (even the LHD aspect), but I almost threw myself over the bars with a freecoaster. Again, race, I'm used to near-instant engagement.

Looking for something clean, dialed, balanced looking. I'm 37, not looking to ride around on something all covered in weed logos and rasta parts. LOL

You are all awesome! I'm glad I asked, something didn't sound right. "$270 in rims" was a big tip-off right there.

Albes, I just bought a MisFit16 from you guys a couple weeks ago! Got to get my other daughter (the one no the Pitboss) on something bigger now too (but that's a different thread).

The Cult Devotion is a kick ass bike! If for some reason they don't have it over there let me know and we'll match the price.

Sure will! And thanks for the match. I was able to use a 15% off coupon through you guys also for that Misfit.

What else do you carry that's on-par with the Cult Devotion? I've been looking but like that the most so far. 21" TT, full chromoly frame/bars/fork, sealed bearings, double wall rims etc.

You could get a nice used custom, if you want to spend $500. Actually I could probably hook you up with something. eBay is always good. The cult devotion is fine, but if I had $500 to spend that's what I would do. There's an s&m custom build on eBay for really cheap. I've been looking at it myself. There's a couple decent bikes for fair prices right now if you look, and they are legit, with parts lists.

|

10/25/2017 7:57 PM

You're right, but FB Marketplace sure as hell ain't the place to do it.

There's some 21" frames in this thread (like the Colony):
https://www.vitalbmx.com/forums/BMX-Stuff-For-Sale,17/Wanted-21-frame,1317264

But again, then I'm going to be $1K into another bike trying to build it probably.

He should offer you 300 to take it off his hands.

Posted from work earlier but I guess it never went through.

The dude is a grade-a assclown. Now claiming "no the other parts are on a different bike, you get both of them" blah blah big misunderstanding. Probably hot.

I think the Cult Devotion is probably best for me at that price point for a new bike, any argument there? If so, which?
No interest in running brakeless, too much going on around me to not be able to stop quickly. Gryo w/ bottom plate? No holes for tabs on Devotion.

If you happen to come across a used custom in that range that fits my needs, feel free to post a link. Thanks!

This bike here is VERY nice... doesn't have brakes but I'm sure you can add them.... but it might be little out if your price range but, you may be able to talk him down some if you are cool with him...

Yeah I'm sure it's a nice bike...not really my taste though and not $965 + shipping.

Looking at WTP, Crysis and Trust are closely priced too to what I'm looking at, have to dig a little more into those.

Looks to be prices he wants for a part out... but he's asking WAY too much for everything. $140 for the cranks & pedals? You can buy the cranks NEW for $150. $965 is entirely too much so tell him good luck with that one haha

Cant go wrong with the Eastern Shovelhead. Great bike with good geometry, full chromo, sealed everything, and looks good too. Just my $0.02.
