Hey guys! I was given an old bmx bike. Never really sure what I have, however I’d like to rebuild it for my son. Any info would’ve greatly appreciated!

Looks like a mid late 90s gt performer. Cool bike.

Clean up, grease and save what you can on it. Pick up some mags tires and any other miscellaneous parts you need and if I was you... a bash guard. You're cool if you're running a bash guard.

I’d say a little more early 90’s. The 95 onwards had a single bend in the downtube. And 96 onwards had 990 mounts. I believe the 94 still had the double bend, but I don’t think it had the coaster brake mount.

It’s a shame the seat isn’t in better condition, they’re really sought after now

I’m not a bike guy at all. I don’t know what a bash guard is lol! I had one bike my whole life. I am a autobody tech tho! So painting and rebuilding I’m confident I can do. I don’t want to do anything fancy. The guy also gave me the original rims. Needs new tires. Any idea on a price after it’s all rebuilt? Don’t think I wanna sell it, my son really want to rebuild it with me. Just curious.

I'm not sure what the value would be. But building it with your son is priceless. I got back into BMX because of my son asking for us to build one for him

It won’t be worth much particularly. Some of the parts aren’t original, they’re only worth money if they’re all original and minty condition

this is an 80's frame. I broke many of them. I'm gunna guess 87-89 based off the color. but my memory isn't what it once was...

it has value if you're into old bmx bikes. Post over on bmx museum and you'll get an answer quickly.

or post the serial number and blog hog should be able to tell you. it is probably on the rear dropout or on the bottom bracket.
