My mates cranks come loose constantly. Every-time we tighten them up, it comes loose not so long after. I have taken it apart and looked at the bolts and they are all fine so what do you guys think is happening.

If they are constantly coming loose, it's likely because he has worn out the splines on the spindle or crank arms. This generally happens when they are ridden loose because they splines in the arms and on the spindle are constantly rubbing against each other.

Basically, when this happens, they are always going to keep coming loose. He should upgrade to 48 spline cranks and have them professionally installed.

Either need more spacers on the spindle, or need less spacers. Also make sure you have the internal spacer in the BB

Make sure bottom bracket spacers are in and right. Check that crank arm spacers are right.
You didn't say which side is coming loose or if it's both sides, so check that the spindle is centered.
Check both the spindle and crank arms for wear, shinny spots and or rounded edges.
If its worn, replace it before it hurts you.
If everything is right, use BLUE Loctite, which must be reapplied every time you take it apart.
DO NOT use RED Loctite, unless you have a torch handy to take it apart next time.

Remember, grease is your friend, use it liberally when installing bottom brackets !!
