MDS on the inside question.

Sup Vital bums,

I have had 3 different frames. T1 2010 Barcode, T1 SFA, and my current frame, S&M BTM. I am a pegless LHD rider, who grinds both pedals. I want to run the MDS on the Inside but it hits my backend. Which it has for all three frames I listed. My MDS is 30 tooth but I have seen 30s ridden on the inside. Adding spacers so it fits makes my chain alignment bananas! Is that what pros do?! Any have any ideas, I imagine a 28 and 25 will face the same exact problem.

Also, I scooped the new Stranger seat, pics on my instagram.

Shoot some shit at me, I might go buy a 28th tomorrow.

Pics of the mds issue? My guess is that you could probably get a 25t in there and maybe a 28t... depends on how tight it is. my 28 fits in backwards fine but i also have longer chainstays.

My 28's teeth almost touch on my United Dinero, otherwise id run it backwards. Try a 27? Its still a highish gear ratio. Or get a 25 which almost HAS to work and get an 8t Èclat hub or wait for the Primo Remix v2. Or buy an 8t blackout driver if you have a Joytech hub. Or 8t Primo Mix driver if you have a Cult Match/Primo Mix/Remix.

Only thing I hate about guard sprockets is that you have to put the chain on from behind the sprocket. At first, I kept trying countless times to force the chain over from outside of the sprocket and I kept thinking the built in guard was too huge, but it appears I was just not noticing things carefully. But anyways, I use the standard small and big cone/dust cover provided with almost all BB kits. I run just the small dust cover cone alone on the drive side, and the big cone on the non-drive side along with like one medium sized spacer. Fits just fine on my frame with the MDS in 25t.

If you have your sprocket on the opposite side to your normal grinding side, then a backwards MDS protects your chain for Crookeds and Crankslides.

What BMX-Forever said. Like for instance, I grind right side and run a LHD drive train. I dont grind on the left whatsoever (yet) so I want the guard for when I try my crank arms, the inner guard helps alot more for this purpose and since I dont grind on that side I dont really need the outer guard, so flipping the sprocket is easier/lighter/cheaper than buying the inner guard.

However I cant flip it on the dinero so im SOL haha. I rarely try crank arms anyhow.
