Hey guys I’ve been looking at a vintage frame on eBay I was hoping you could help me identifying it. Pretty sure that it’s going to be an expert and not a Californian but the serial number has EL which I haven’t seen listed in any of the articles I’ve read about it. I’m gonna include some pictures but any info about this bike before I buy it would be appreciated thanks vital bmx! Photo

Also one more pic- is this a very short top tube? I’m 6’ 3” but I’ve always been fine on smaller bikes I’ve never really measured my top tube with a tape measure just went by the specs- based on the pic it looks like a 17” top tube which would be super super small is that correct?? Thanks in advance for any help guys Photo

go to bmx museum . com

they will know instantly.

that frame is older than most people on this site. by many many years.

it's not older than me though. I just don't know old bmx exact details because... modern bmx bikes are superior to old ones.

good luck.

Top tubes are typically measured from the center of the seat tube to the center of the head tube. So this frame is NOT a 17" TT. It's hard to see in the pic but from what I can see & knowing that era of BMX frames, it's entirely likely it's an 18.5" tt frame.

Well I'll be damned.. That appears to be a MONGOOSE PRO Sniper.

How much do you want for it? I'll pay good money for a MONGOOSE PRO Sniper

Oh no...

Don’t put 25.4 bars in a 22.2 stem.

My last bike 20 years ago was a Californian 19" top tube. At 6' 3 bro you are wasting your time and money trying to relive that fantasy. Especially if you want to actually ride it. Those bikes were designed for kids. Shop modern and build a beast. Better stronger parts made for adults to beat on and ride.
Trust me bro. Unless you are looking for a wall decoration I would not waste my time. As much as it would be cool to have it's absolutely useless.

HardBMX_Tim I’m not sure if you’re being sarcastic haha but I didn’t end up buying it- most likely still up on eBay I think it was like 60 bucks shipped. I’d be happy to find the link again for you

Thanks for everybody’s replies- I’m definitely looking for something to be riding I found a Colony ebird built up with good parts around my area that I plan to pick up. Any of you guys know anything about that particular model? I haven’t been able to find anything online
