So my bike currently weights 31 pounds and I just want to say that i actually prefer a heavier bike.

Btw I have a ten year old S&M Pitchfork that weights 5.4 pounds. Which is nearly half a pound more than my frame.

Also the purpose of this thread was to see if anybody else rides a heavier bike, and if you actually like it more.

My bike is 26 even and feels really light to me. I used to run a frame that weighed over six pounds, so i know what a hevier bike feels like. I wouldn't want my bike much lighter than it is now.

Im actually getting used to 30 pounds, and i feel like once I get newer parts, itll lose weight, and feel a lot better.

THat makes sense lol. I dont even try to have a light bike, actually i dont really understand how light it is, i have 2.4 tires, fat seat, aluminium cranks, 2 pegs, one of them really heavy cause its out of a stock bike, guard sprocket, and heavish rear hub.

It’s all bmx

My current set up is around 30lbs. 2x chromo pegs & guards, gyro, Gsport Ratchet, incredibly beefy rims, and then a thick ass frame with almost Odyssey everything! I am getting a lighter rear rim hopefully soon for purposes other than weight, and will replace the front if I find the matching rim, will probably grab a set of folding tires, relace my wheels with butted spokes, and then add front brakes and 2 more pegs/guards. My bike is pretty beastly but its all in the sake of knowing it wont give out from under me. Im going to try to lighten it up hopefully without sacrificing any strength since I plan to accommodate more parts on it and im already on the verge of saying its becoming too heavy. Though personally, I hate extremely light bikes. 25-28lbs is PERFECT but I know ill never have that with the way my bike will be!

2002 barcode, 2000? Pitchforks and 99? Profiles solid axle, I got at least 13-14lbs right there, the frame is 8+ on its own.

I used to ride a 2005 haro Ryan nyquist that was around 30 pounds and I really likedit for park. I could almost 540 it out of a quarter pipe and could flat 360 it easy. For me the weight doesn't effect my riding it's the geometry.

25 pounds is light as shit to me. I run all guards (mostly plastic), a guard sprocket, fat tires, and all 4 pegs. Nothing cut down or modded either. My bike is at least 26-28 pounds.

i've never weighed my bike but i would not be surprised if its in the 28-30 range.. it has 4 pegs, guard sprocket, heavy khe freecoaster, brakes, and it doesn't help that the frame is almost 6 pounds, but overall i like the the way a heavier bike feels.
