My 11 year old son wants a new bike. We have looked locally at the bike shops and have come up with 2 bikes that he likes. 1st- Mirra 5-Star Option (white/gold), 2nd- Haro F3 (white/red). I haven't been into bikes since my Schwinn Mag-Scrambler back from the Late seventy's! What bike would you guys say is the better all around bike for the money? I personally loved how light and simple the Mirra bike was. Thanks for your help!!

simple and light bikes are always good.

If he is not going to do anything else besides just riding it around the town just pick the color he likes better. But if he knows he will want to try tricks then the better pick would be the 5 star option because it is lighter than the F3.
My personal choice would be the option because of the setup.
As a side note if you are planning on racing at a bmx track, choose a bike with knobbie tires like the Mirraco Icon moto, Mirraco Blackpearl series or the Haro Backtrail series as the two above are made for park and street riding.

Thanks everyone! That is a big help. We kinda were edging toward the Mirra, but liked the Haro colors.

yea, it definately depends on whether he actually intends to get into bmx or just ride around. i would definately recomend the mirra if he wants to get into bmx.

mirraco is a great bike company
but i had a haro and from experience they are deffinately good bikes
i had mine for a year and it took whatever i threw at it
i even had the F3 red and white
