When doing a bump jump, you must hit the bump and lean back to compensate and get the height you desire. It isnt hard, in the winter, this kind of thing is what i do a lot of on street. I can do bump jump 360s. Try to hit it and lean back and make sure both tires go off.

Only advice I have is to not try to hit the curb with your rear wheel. After you pull the bars, lag the rear and let the curb hit the wheel. It's your job to time shit correctly. Don't whack your wheel against it.
Funny, the first time i did a bump jump was on accident when trying to hop a five. I pinched the tube and went over the bars after my front wheel hit the top stair. Not fun. Another incident I was doing the same shit on a dif set, I ended up doing a proper bumpjump and landed into a perfect hang nothing for like four feet... by accident. My first hang nothing.. I can't hang nothing...............for shit
Time it right & keep the rear relaxed. I never thought about a bumpjump to xup combo, good luck with that. I kinda wanna try them now too actually lol.
