People tell me to get 9s . but I'm on 8.25s with a topload , and I like tall bars , should I goto 8.5 with topload ? 8.7s ? 8.6s ? or 9s with a frontload ?

How tall are you. Your not going to like 9 even with front load . Just get a nice rideable 8.65

I ran 9" with a topload with 1" of spacers, I'm running the same 9" bars with a slammed front load. And I felt no difference in how the bike feels. The only time I felt a big difference was going from 1 deg up to 4 deg up.

Get yourself some Animal Big Fours (Upsweep is the best!) then a higher rise Topload stem something like an S&M Enduro or Fit HIgh Top. Will put your bars up a fair bit.

9s with a frontload are shorter than 8.25 in a topload depending on your stem

Two ways to go about this:
1) baby steps --> try out 8.5"s, and move up slightly if it still feels small.
2) go big or go home --> grab some 9"s and dial it back if their too big.
***you can also flip your tl to if the 9's too big***

Personally, I'm 6'3". Ride 8.5" w a top load (tempered crossbones) and it feels good. I'm building a new bike and have 8.6" bars w a front load flipped (odyssey hawk) and just from rolling around, it feels shorter, but that's what I was going for.

I don't understand why some guys think bigger bars make you hop higher. It's not true. When you hop, your like a spring. You compress yourself, then explode when you jump. Smaller bars would equal more compression and therefore, more spring (higher hop) Really tho, you should ride what's comfortable. And if nothing is comfy, then maybe bmx isn't for you.

MadvillainZ has it right! Smaller bars = higher hops. I cant hop for shit with anything over 8" I'm 6'1 & i couldn't care less if i "should be" riding huge bars. People said i should be running a 21"+ frame got a 21.25" frame fucking HATED it with a passion I'm running a 20" frame now & couldn't be happier! Its all preference i guess. Don't just go with what other people say is good or think you should be riding. Trial & Error find out what you like & stick to it!

Right now , I'm on Primo Samsquanch and a Freeze TL , my back hurts from how small they are . I don't know what to get , I'm thinking CULT Deathrowv2 8.65 or some BSD Giraffics or just any bar really .

If your Bars feel too small, get bigger Bars, it's all about what you want, not what anyone else thinks you need.
