Okay, so I have a final list of bikes I am sort of considering, planning to get one within the next couple days... please help me decide, and please don't tell me to step up to a $400+ bike or something... help me choose between these. I am 5'10, 145lb... never ridden bmx and don't plan to be a hardcore bmxer, but I would like to try out flatland freestyle tricks for fun... let me know what you think.. some of these bikes don't have pegs (how much would they cost?) and some of them don't have front brakes (which I'm assuming are needed for many flatland freestyle tricks? can they be added? if so for how much?) thanks for any advice.

that's what i need help with, and what i'm trying to do... i figured on a bmx forum there would be people who know more about these bikes and would know what fits me and what i'm looking for

dont buy from craiglslist and if your not serious about getting into bmx then get a haro

I'm thinking between a Haro F3 and the Specialized Fuse 3.

Someone told me that the GT's are 18" TT, and the F3 and the Fuse 3's are 20"+... also in my research it appears that the Fuse 3 is 27lb where as the rest are 35+

The only problem with the fuse is that there doesn't appear to be a front brake, how necessary is that for someone wanting to begin trying flatland freestyle tricks?

|

its really not. the majority of people now ride brakeless. starting out a rear brake is fine

Well, their all kind of scary in their own little way.I would take the green GT,or the Mirra Haro.Seems like the best choice for flat land. He's probably going to ride the thing for a year and then quit,or up grade anyway.Might as well let one of these bounce off the pavement while learning.

honestly think that is the best looking bike, like that old school bmx look... but i'm just concerned about it's weight and reliability, hard to find specs on it

specialized fuse 3

|

6/19/2009 12:49 PM

|

6/19/2009 12:52 PM

all those bikes u posted are shit

|

6/19/2009 12:59 PM

gonz, i'm looking for something more constructive than that.... if you would have read my first post you would have known that... also "never ridden bmx and don't plan to be a hardcore bmxer", i'll probably infrequently for a couple months and then either decide bmx is not for me or upgrade to something different.

no none of those. you will seriously just quit bmx entirely once u try to do tricks on those. check danscomp bikes. there are decent bikes for under $250 there, that isnt too far over your price range. trust me and get a new one from dans it'll be better than any of those on craigs or w/e
