On Sunday, September 1st I was at Wheeling Skatepark, my favorite concrete park. I was having a blast and my friend, Chaz was pumping me up because that day was the day I was going to fly out of the bowl for the first time. I had flown out before on small spots at other places, but the most shallow part at Wheeling is probably 6 feet high. (Correct me if I'm wrong, Max) I rolled in and started cruising around. I pumped around for about five minutes and then I figured I'd fly out and give someone else a chance. I pedaled as fast and I could, did everything correctly I just started leaning to the side while I leaned forward. I leaned to the side so much I was going to fall over, so naturally, I put my foot down. As soon as I hit the ground, my ankle immediately rolled and I slammed the side of my foot off of the concrete. It hurt. It hurt really bad, but I had just gotten to the park and I didn't really think much of it. After 5 minutes of riding I sat down , had a drink of Dr. Pepper and I decided to take my shoe off. My foot was so swollen that I could barely get it back on! I figured it wasn't anything too bad so I finally got my shoe on and I continued riding, I rode for two more hours and then I left. On my way home, the pain increased. I went home and fell asleep. The next day I woke up not able to apply all of my weight on it but it wasn't terrible. It didn't seem broken so I figured I needed to suck it up. Tuesday, I went to school and walked around on it THE WHOLE DAY. I got home and it was swelled up even more than it was on Sunday. So I finally went and saw a doctor and he told me there is a hair line fracture in a growth plate in my foot and I need to see a specialist. He put me in a half cast, (They put the back of a cast on the bottom/back of my foot and wrap it all up in a really thick, ace bandage-looking stuff) gave me crutches, and sent me home. He told me not to walk on it until I see a specialist and then to follow his orders. I don't know when my appointment with a specialist is yet, so I'm still in this terrible half cast. So I can't ride for a while, what should I do to pass the time? I will update you guys when my appointment is and what the doc says when I find out!
