Gentlemen (and ladies)

I got that fit bike. Rolls real nice. And its really light! Have a few questions though:

I have no idea how you guys ride with such a small seat post. I put that thing at its max height and i was asking for like 4 more inches. I have another old bike with a nice seat rod and seat that fits into the new bike. Can you see any problems with me switching it? I guess my only question is because the seat rod is kind of old, but its in perfect shape. I didn't know if there was any difference in them. It feels tight and its locked into the frame.

Also, how do you get air out of your tires? The bike came with way to much air in them. It's killing my wrists landing and I'd like to get rid of some of it.

Thanks for your help guys. Feels great to be getting funny looks riding on a small bike again smile

For the tires, Leave them, the tires are built to run that PSI, if not it can cause flat tires, if you must, PLEASE only lower to about 75-90 psi , and go down to the wheels and unscrew the small black caps and stick a small screw driver in and push down the inner metal piece. The seat, if it goes into the seat tube, its fine run it. It wont effect anything.

Just switch the seat there is no problem.
If you want just poke the vavle cap and let out some air until you like were your tire is.
Dont listen to these guys, I run 50psi in front and 60psi, less air in the tires is a much better feeling.

And you forgot to mention at that psi, you often have to peddle much more.

You sound like you haven't been riding long enough to have an actual idea of how much pressure you need for tires.

|

trails are not skateparks, they exist solely from the work and dedication of local riders. so next time you start complaining about not having local trails to ride, you only need look at yourself.

110 both. And 110psi feels like shit I hate it. I havent gotten any pinch flats yet. I ran an 18" tube in the back too and it lasted me a long time before it got a flat. Not cause of psi, but because of what I guessing is a puncture.
Cupovjoe is right I doubt you know much about tire pressure. Yes you have to peddle more but if you cant be man enough to pedle a little more you might as well be a park rat and pump aroumd for speed.
I will not go past 70psi but I doubt ill even ever go up to 70psi.

How so? The less surface (110 psi pumped up) on the road is less rolling surface, thus less contact, and then the less contact the lower friction. I know what im talking about.

Ok? Im sorry I dont wanna peddle 50 times to move 10 feet? Anyways, its a preference I have NEVER had pain from landing on 110.

Its all personal prefrence dude. Thats a dumb statement you really think 50-60psi is slow?? Softer psi is a better feel and more flexible to your style. To most us street riders high psi is just a fancy thing. No need to say negative stuff about psi.

Im not, whenever I run low psi, I always feel like im going to molest my rim, and then end up with a pinch flat and always end up peddling more.

tires are not shocks they aren't supposed to be soft or to dampen your landings..... thats what your knees and elbows are for

They dont really damp the landings much, its just more of a flexible soft feel. I run this and many other pros do too. I dont see a problem, but the damping it does do helps.
