Seems in the last few years there's been a few bmx riders to jump over to mountain bike slopestyle and go ride their huge pro world tour , it seems as if nyquist is the latest to do so pretty crazy

I don't blame em. mountain biking is fun as hell. A great breath of fresh air and change of pace, especially when you've been riding as long as Nyquist.
I still want one real bad. Lots of hills and trails in my area. So pricey though.

mtb is just way too expensize for a kid in highschool like me and many others here
Im sure the sponsors are also paying a lot more .

Bmx-forum-Tumitama, archerbiker9(2x), mrsanchezz, nguyenna, JoeyBones, fast-and-loose and many others
Also multiple sales on global-flat.com and PinkBike. Theres to many to list all. Most sales are done through texting I havent been able to keep track of who is who.
I wish i could get one, those things are fun. Plus people pull some crazy high speed tricks on em. I saw this gigantic backflip.

Mtb technology moves so fast. If you want to compete, you gave to have a big wallet or catch the eye of a sponsor. That's why I struggle in mtb races, the other kids have fucking carbin frames and wheels, I don't even have disk brakes, but I whoop their ass on downhills. It's higher paying and arguably the best extreme racing community, as it's a time thing. It's why we're losing guys like Mink and Caroline Buchanan's husband to it. And it's a lot less repetitive than freestyle. Trails change. I like equally, I ride more bmx, but it's awesome.
^^^ that is true ....but when it comes to slopestyle contests its a whole different
Beast , the guys who consistently stay relevant In slopestyle are some of the craziest bastards on the planet , all contests leading up to the 3 crankworx contests are insane then it ends off
With rampage , you need to be well rounded In every discipline to win that title , a series like that is what bmx lacks

One of my friends has been a professional mountain biker since high school and has traveled all over the world for world championships and whatnot. I always thought mountain biking looked pretty awesome (but expensive) so I never considered it, but now that I can afford it I have been thinking about it quite a bit (especially since mountain biking is huge where I live).
Bikes are fun and I recommend to anyone that enjoys bikes to try different variations (such as MTB or road cycling). The only things I don't recommend are growing a curly mustache and playing bike polo on a fixie or throwing pegs on a fixie... lol jk.
I don't consider slopestyle or dirt jumps mountain biking. It's in the gray arra between bmx and mtb where it was directly inspired by bmx, but a bmx bike wasn't quite usable. And slopestyle is cool.
Mountain biking is fun but tucking expensive. But they are always stupid good deals on craigslist.

Not really, you can get a solid MTB for singletrack starting around 6-700, and then build on from there, or a dirt jumper for around a grand. Seriously, most of the parts are similar cost to BMX.

Glad he's still riding making money. He was such a big deal when I was growing up

ive wanted to venture into a 26 inch NS bike with a marzocchi dj fork and bomb down hunter mountain but its just too pricey for me. even MTB street / park looks fun. but i mean for nyquist it seems logical he was always a dirt rider and look at his style it suits slopestyle barspins, x-ups, tailwhips etc.

Anthony messere or however it's spelled that guy boosts love watching him ride slopestyle and I hear he rips
Bmx to according to the macneil site a few years back
I wondered for years why there was such a big divide between mountain bikes and BMX. Dirt is dirt and both scenes go pretty balls out so I'm glad there's starting to be a crossover between the 2 as both deserve mutual respect
