Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the only difference between the wom & twombolts were the wedge cluster. more wombolts were known for snapping, but due to a bad batch. I know 2 people who've had them for years and one of them rides hard and are easily nearly 7 years old coming up

They snap a lot. They were pretty much known for breaking like fly cranks. I know a lot of people who have broke theirs.

I dunno you could be right, but I've known like 4 or 5 people who snapped theirs over different periods of time, some being soon after they came out. I know that woms were pretty much known for snapping and the twombolts fixed the problems like woms had.

yeah supposedly the bad batch was right after one of the first batches, and was corrected in a later batch, and I guess then they realized their wedge system was pretty shitty so they introduced the twombolts. my friend's nearly 7 year old pair still feel stiff as ever, no wobble. truly proven design.


To answer OP's question, I'd go with the Twombolts just in case you DO get a bad batch of Wombolts, plus you get a better wedge cluster.

So, twombolts or thunderbolts.

This. Go with twoms cuz overall they're just better, but wombolts are still decent cranks. I've seen a couple snapped pairs, but my friend has been riding wombolts for around 7 years as well and he shreds hard. He swears by them
