We all know about the oil slick parts, but how are they made? It must cost a good bit because there really are some crazy prices going on out there, like the stupid Colony Contour rims in oil slick jumping from 80 to 160 or something.
How do they make that color?

It's a variation of TiN (titanium nitrate) coating. Probably Titanium oxynitrate. Which is normally yellow. And it was then overheated to produce the color changes...
