I have an older volume death wish frame that I’m trying to rebuild. It has cane creek spec head tube 36/45 and was wondering if I could run a modern fork with the integrated bearing race on it. Thanks!!!! Sorry for the noob question it’s been a very very long time since I’ve rode ha

Yes but the 36/45 headset isn't gonna be widely available. I found one on Amazon quickly though.

Thanks! I wasn’t sure cause I know some forks say campy spec just wasn’t to positive where the 36 degree angle came into play. If it was frame side or fork. Right now I have a very very old Hoffman fork on it with the press in race that came with the frame.

Can you post a picture of what you have? Is it the top or bottom bearign that's 36?

It won’t work with a campy spec frame, but will work with forks. The 36 is the angle on the outside of the bearing itself. The 45 on the inside. So you’ll be able to use that frame, with the correct headset.

What about it the fork says campy spec? Would that still be ok or wouldn’t it work or should I just find a fork that needs a press in race

The forks will work. But fbm cb4k’s don’t have a built in race
