They're not fun for me ! They spook me out and irritate me more than I feel good. Feebles are weird and double pegs are the same difficulty as cashrolls for me. Plus I grind drive side and goofy so I have to maintain my bike so much more. I'm taking them off and either going to ride pegless street or get park skills going on !

i like the feel of sliding , but not landing your acual wheel on a ledge just feels so unatural to me

My back peg came off a ledge I was grinding and at the same time I got hung up on my front. I ended up tilting forward and missed hitting my mouth on a ledge by about an inch. I would have at least lost a couple teeth without a doubt. Grinding wasn't my thing after that....

Dude, riding comes at a price. Things are lucky and unlucky and you either practice and are dialed or not. But then again, go for pegless grinds then, but it'd still be kinda the same thing.. You'd get hurt exactly the same way.

good point. actually, chris cole (pro skater) said that if he didn't get beat up after a session, he wouldn't feel it was a complete sesh.

chris cole is also (sort of) an am rider for cult.
But anyway just stick with it for a little bit longer! Learn the 3 basics then decide if you want them or not.. They really are easy once you get it. try double pegging a rail. its easier to double peg a rail then a box. well easier to slide a double on a rail.

I grind right side and on my back foot, it doesn't take much extra too keep your bike running nice. Get a dsg and a mds. I'm also guessing your going too slow with your grinds if you put an extra crank or two in you'll find them a lot easier

I know from experience that riding comes at a price. I'm not Sean Burns but i've had some nasty slams (over and over but I got it and was hyped!) but grinding just spooks me out. I'd rather 360 some shit or 180 gap stairs then grind . Is that weird? I ca almost tailwhip yet I can't double peg. I can only hold feebles for like 1 foot LOL
Until I want to try grinds or I get bored , tomorrow I'm going pegless and eventually getting a freecoaster and rip shit up going backwards !

I started running pegs a couple of months ago, and I'm not ever taking em off, shits addictive and not that hard really.
when you try a new grind it always feels a little weird at first but it don't take long to get into them. Grinding makes street riding more interesting & challenging, it also creates more options for creative links & lines.
I can see why people wouldn't want to run pegs tho cuz out of all the moves you can make on a bike, grinding seems to be the one aspect of street riding where people get hurt and fuck their bikes up the most.

Yes you can have fun riding pegless. Yes you prefer riding pegless. But not for a second does that means Pegs aren't fun and that pegless is best for everyone.

I ride pegless street, I still hit rails and pedal grind on both pedals, also I do a lot of tire slides on boxes ledges and rails

The Ian Schwartz thing made me laugh so hard.
I like to have all my options open, i dont get to ride a lot of things so the more options the better. I ran four pegs, which is a lot of fun, especially because i can do flatland with them! I liked doing oppo grinds and stuff, but my bike just didnt feel right, i couldnt pop my threes the way i like, so i have to wait til i can get 4 plastics. I ride 2 pegs as of now which is still fun, i dont necessarily like or dislike pegs, but if i rode in somewhere like New York, id ride pegless street all day. I love crank grinds so much, i can dropout grind too, so it wouldnt matter. The only problem with me trying to be pegless where i live is that i would not be able to enjoy riding as much without grinds and flatland. I have a friend who doesnt ride pegs and actually doesnt do any grinds whatsoever, and still kills it. So it is all preference and how creative you are!
