I guess mine is a bit lame, but being pretty new to bmx my biggest pet peeve at the moment is my lack of progression! I've been riding about a year now, but have broken my ankle and both wrists in that time and now when I ride i'm so often sketching about breaking shit because I can't take any more time off work!!! Hate constantly getting demoralized because even my bunny hops feel shit lol

dude, i've been riding sooooo long and i completely suck but i ride hard because i love to ride. it's crazy to see kids doing insane shit who have been alive as long as i've been riding but half them won't be riding in 5 years once they get cars and jobs and responsibilities...just cruise and have as much fun as you can. the people that feed into all the BS and drama and lame competitive attitudes are rarely the ones that stick with it.

This Guy knows what's up! Nearly 14 Years I've been Riding, I used to shred! The last time I attempted Hop Bars, I ended up having to have Root Canal Surgery!! Smashed My face on My Bars!! I had to slow down because of a shoulder injury & over that time I realized that actually You don't have to shred 24/7, You don't have to constantly be pushing to be Pro or whatever Ride for fun & enjoy every single Ride!

Yeah I recon I'm just going through that stage where progression drives me in pretty much everything so I want to be better. But I think you guys are right on the money, and that I should learn to just cruise and enjoy what I'm doing a lot more, it's just the mate I ride with has been riding for like 20 years and is a BEAST which makes me sad lol. I had to have root canal surgery as well! Tried to air out and back into a quarter for the first time, didnt turn the bike down well enough, smashed the front wheel into the coping, fell straight onto my face and smashed my front 4 teeth out....$2700 bucks later lol.

Yeah it's pretty fucked how much it cost...made me seriously dial back my riding because time off work and bills of that size make u reevaluate how bulletproof you are lol. I was given trammy's but hated how dizzy they made me and shit so I just blazed away the pain, took a solid 2-3 months before I was able to chew food and stuff though, and the two fake teeth I have in there now are pretty sensitive at times

That's pretty crazy! I was lucky, I chipped one of My teeth pretty bad & I was told to use this enamel repair toothpaste that actually works! The enamel is growing back slowly! The other one was cracked pretty much all the way through & again enamel repair stuff is working pretty well, thought I was gunna lose 2 teeth for sure, but luckily with a little fiddling around I managed to keep them! It was certainly an experience! I know what You mean about the whole bullet proof thing! After the surgery I had on My shoulder, it really forced Me to think about what I was doing on My Bike! I ended up stopping Riding for almost a year & now with a lot of Physio & some serious work on My part, I've been building up a new Bike & I'll be back on a rig in late July/early August! Fucking Stoked! Gunna slowly push My limits back to kinda 75%of what I used to be hopefully!

Not trying to be that guy but you guys are wusses for using Morphine etc with a root canal. I let the numbing stuff wear off for mine after a NASTY abscess and I went home and played XBOX. I took tylenol that night and that was it. I DID have to take an antibiotic because of it, but that's it. No other pain meds.
Mine wasn't impact caused though, mine was a filling that got infected.

Haha, I don't use Morphine for My Root Canal. I use it for Shoulder reconstructive surgery that didn't go 100% correctly & left Me with an unstable joint, muscle wastage & Nerve Damage. I've been on Morphine for just over a Year now & Tramadol for about 4. I'm taking a pretty strong nerve blocker too, but because of My Diabetes & Epilepsy sadly I can't have the strongest shit which is frustrating! I've just started to lower My Meds & I'm stoked to say I'm on less than 30 Tablets a day now! Still high 20's but under 30!!!

Haha! Pretty Much! I swear I rattle when I walk lol! I've started a Physio regime now. Atm I'm lifting My Bike like a weight haha. My Physio said to get Me used to the weight of My Bike the best thing to do is to lift it! I've got to start Riding & using the muscle groups in My upper body & basically just build up My upper body strength with Riding BMXicycles! I'm stoked the Physio knows BMX is what I want to be doing & in Her eyes the best way to do it, is to do it haha! I'll be off to Cornwall with Eddi & My Ginger Douche Fag Best Friend & I really plan on getting My Grind On!! New Bike, New Me, LET'S SHRED!!!

Jesus Topsey sounds like you are a walking chem lab haha. That's rough as though man, hope you are healed up and all that real soon! Dave, when you have 4 shattered teeth in pieces in your hands, and they have to drill and cut into your gums to remove the shards of teeth, and then they have 3 root canal surgeries to do as well as fit, reshape, and brace a fake tooth, and then they need to brace the entire upper gum...it's pretty painful and makes eating and talking pretty fucking raw. However in saying that, as I said above, I had one trammy, hated it, and just smoked through the pain (y). Not trying to be that guy now, but "Mine wasn't impact caused though, mine was a filling that got infected." is pretty different to 'fell 6 feet onto concrete landing teeth first" haha

Cheers My Dude. It's been a long, long road to get to this point. I had a miss diagnosis for about 18 months & I really thought I was Fucked! I was diagnosed with a really severe Nerve condition that would just get worse & worse. I DON'T have that condition thank Fuck haha. So now it's been a battle to get the Nerve Pain, Muscle Wastage & Unstable Joint under control! I'm getting there, I'll be Riding by the end of summer! I won't be anything like I was, but I really couldn't care I'll be back on a BMX! BMX is My LIFE, My passion!
