Ive got an old mirraco icon complete from back in like 06 07. I havent rode bmx since then and I wana use the frame for a custom build but idk if its to small. Im a novice rider and have riden bikes my whole life. I just havent rode bmx in a few years. Im 5'8" 5'9" and the frame is a 20"-20 1/2" top tube. Ill be using it for park and trails only. The frame is sound I just need to know if its a ok size (im not looking for a perfect fit here) and if its worth building on. Should i use good parts or is it not worth it to put good parts on this frame?

And parts suggestions are welcome. Im literally using only the frame. Bearings and all will be bought new.

The tt maybe abit small for what you want. I know some guys on here eg topsey and Mexican like short Tt's but they lean pretty hard to the flat side of freestyle (not saying that's a bad thing at all). But as a rule trail riders tend to go for a long frame in the tt and cs for heaps of balance and stability In the air and whilst moving at speed.

With out knowing the specs of the frame it could be full chromo or it could be a heap of hi ten steel which really doesn't make a good frame (hi tensile steel is heavier and weaker than chromo)

But if your on a budget work with what you've got, if not find another frame to build from.

I believe its chromo. It weighs 5 pounds with the crank bearings and giro still on it. and like i said im not looking for a perfect fit. Im definitely building on a budget and if i would get a different frame i would just buy another complete for 350-400. Would a 1/2"-2" difference be enough for me to hate how it rides? Any trails I ride Ill just flow im not really about the tricks. and in the park ill just be doing simple stuff like tail whip stalls plants 180 360 barspins etc. Since i havnt rode in so long ill basically be relearning everything so if i relearn on a slightly short frame wouldn't that make it feel natural?
