Possible Hub Issue? (My new Halo MXR) *Issue concluded, no problems with the hub*

So I got this hub about a month ago but could not start riding it for the first few hours until yesterday.

I noticed one thing kind of odd about my hub, it rolls smooth, engages perfectly, and feels solid all around... BUT, the sound is what threw me off.

It has I guess I could call it a "tone change" basically the hub's loudness changes in volume, like, the clicking is loud and clear then the next moment it is almost coaster quiet, then loud and clear again...

Is this a normal part of a break in period for some hubs? Because I have never noticed this on any other hub, all the way from, my Novatec Rebel Cassette Hub (Joytech design), My 3 Primo Mix Hubs, My Colony Wasp, etc.

I have looked at the driver a few times before and everything looks perfect on the inside so I saw no issue there.

I hope you guys sorta get what I am talking about, I am not too concerned because it rides perfectly. I am just a little curious as to why it goes from loud to quite and back to loud.

**NOTE: I have ZERO experience with Halo Cassette Hubs**

Doesn't sound like a major issue, just wearing in. My guess is maybe grease is in there moving around or something, like when you ride it and the the grease gets more spread out inside the driver but then when you're done riding, the grease sets again. That's my guess, idk for sure.

My one Shadow Rant v2 cassette did this.. I'd ride it to school which is all uphill, and it was quiet from the time I left my house to the time I locked it to the bike rack.. I'd get out of school, it's still quiet. I'd ride it downhill without pedaling and by the time I'm at the end of the hill it's loud as fuck the rest of the day. Did this for awhile before it was a constant sound instead of changing like yours is currently doing.

Probably grease and spring contact. If you know what you're doing, open it up and see if you can take a little out or replace it so it doesn't continue. I usually do a teeny dab in my Ratchet because you don't need a lot, just a little.

As stoners and morons everywhere say, a dab'll do ya.

But realistically i had a similar issue with a Semi Sealed hub. The spring was pretty shit and the thing was too greasy inside.

I used to use a little black grease mixed with petroleum jelly, but like the tiniest amount. It is a nice loose grease combo and keeps that thing rolling smooth for forever.

sticky spring/pawl issue, just use thin grease after you clean out the cheapo stuff they put in there.

Yeah it still does this but it's proven to be no physical issue. Not worried anymore.

Thread was dead but i was now able to conclude this. (Title will be / has been changed)
