Is there anything I can do to fix this or do I just have to live with it?
Is that the Plastic DSG? if so you can either cut out a steel plate, can be really thing and put it on the out side of it. Or maybe slide your wheel more into the dropouts. Basically the Plastic is cutting itself into the dropout and deforming. Had the same problem with mine

Move your wheel forward slamming it with your dropouts.

Just a random thought, but would just a spacer on the outside of the guard help at all, or be possible. Or would it cause the wheel to slip easier.

That would work. But it would probably streatch the frame even more. Unless the new ones don't cause the frame to stretch
