But seriously, NEVER GIFT MONEY ON PAYPAL. You cannot dispute then. If they won't allow it, don't buy from them.

REQUIRE A VIDEO OF THEM PUTTING THE ITEMS INTO A BOX, ATTACHING LABEL AND SENDING AT A UPS STORE. (or photos with them visible in the photos-selfie style if need be).

Honestly, just buy off ebay or in person. Then you don't risk this shit. I will never trade with someone on here unless I personally know them or can meet in person. That way I can see what I get and they can see what they get.

As to vital having something in place, a lot of that would be great, but would be costly to establish (background checks etc) AND put a lot more into vital to get it up and running, lots of people might get upset about it. I would say you should require being their friend on FB at least until the transaction is complete, photos of them packaging the item in the box and applying label and dropping it off with them and their vital name in the photo, (video too). That would be the best way to protect yourself. And if they don't make with the promised goods, you can post it on their FB wall, so their friends know. That provides accountability on them to do what they promise they will do.

EDIT: I'm sure some asshats would fake an FB though.

That isn't a bad idea, yeah we'll have to pay double the shipping but it's worth the security if it's being sent to a mod... mods are usually or automatically trusted so yeah this isn't a bad idea...

To those getting ripped off, contact authorities ASAP before the kid ditches the parts. If he is obviously avoiding you then he doesn't plan on righting his wrongs. The only sad part is most local PD's don't care about shit like this even tho it is considered mail fraud.

yeah i have filed a police report right away, i have got in contact with the kid, he's shipping my stuff back and paying shipping for his stock hubs... i also doubt he actually has the wheels, reason is because he sent spokes as if i was going to use them and "fell for his scam" it was 20 min after i opened the package i called the local police to make a report, i have called his local police but had to make a report first... which i have afterwards right away.

UPDATE: he is supposed to ship my parts back to me today, hopefully he will, and gives tracking #, i have re-informed him about it... i shall keep everyone posted about it...

Also the riley kid may know the guy, i think it's his buddy "red-shorts" Going based on what his cranks look like...

Also, when buying/trading with someone, comment on their post saying that you are claiming a certain part, therefore if the person scams, they wont get two people on one part like with the front wheel in this situation.
