Basically i've just got a set of volume la grips and have managed, after much struggle, to remove the old grip and put the new one one. Surely there must be an easier way than just pulling them, or cutting them off then slowing sliding the new grip on?

spray a little bit of hairspray into them, and then slip them in

wd-40 takes a while to dry, a very long while. if ur gonna use wd-40 ur better off spiting into ur grips.

i work in a bike shop and the hairspray and wd-40 work but the grips move. we use a air compressor. 30 secs both grips are on and they don't have any movement once on.

thts the best easyes and least messy way 2 do it

|

WD-40. Dissapates moisture, prevents slippage when cured.

|

5/25/2009 6:33 PM

AIR COMPRESSOR

|

On My bicycle i have the freedom to do anything i put my mind to, and thats what i live for

5/25/2009 6:42 PM

Yea but not everyone has access to an air compressor. Use the zip tie trick shown on RideBMX. You simply slip some long enough zip ties in your grips, slide your grips onto your bars, and then pull the sip ties out.

I've never tried it but I probably will next time.

I always use an aircompressor if you don't have on go ask a friend or go to a local bike shop

|

Well, what have we here...apparently....Idk what we have here. sad

baby oil

|

Yeah

5/25/2009 8:44 PM

when taking them off cut them with a razor blade but when putting them on use an air compressor

|

5/25/2009 9:11 PM

i just put some water under them when i take them off. then either muscle the new ones on, or use an aircompressor. hairspray works as a lube then makes it stick.

hairspray works amazingly the alcohol in the hairspray will evaporate and basically turn it to glue

|

5/26/2009 1:07 PM

i use rubbing alcohol, cheap and it takes less time 2 dry the hairspray

|

5/26/2009 1:13 PM

icut my old ones off and use aclaholic hairspray or an air compressoer 2 put them on

I do stuff and I'm not good at it.

Cutting them off is probably the fastest and easiest way to take grips off, but i've tried using zip ties to put them on and it works fine.
