Ok so after almost a year, my etnies brake shoes are pretty much dead. I'm looking for shoes that are a little bit higher in the back than what i have now. But what i'm really wondering is how do i know if it is quality or not. Is vulcanized better than non vulcanized? What materials are longer lasting?

Nit quite sure on that but I'd try Adidas. They have started getting into the bmx game and some of their stuff is really grippy. And im talking stuff like my pair. Not the obnoxious huge ones that always compete with Jordan's. Or the Nigel Sylvester s.o.m.p. nikes. Those have gotten great feedback.

What's your budget? Also are concerned about pedal feel? Oh and do you need heel support? At the moment I have some Lakais, they have great grip and pedal feel, they are pretty much like Vans, if you can find them cheap, definitely get a pair, my next pair will be DVS Toreys mid top

Osiris NYC83 mid or hightops, great shoes, nice and plush, lots of support with hightops, loads of colors, and 2 styles vulc and non vulc(which is even grippier then the vulc!) bit pricey but a great shoe, I just got mine and I LOVE THEM!

I don't like wearing expensive shoes so around $60 or less preferably. I want it to grip my heal better than my current ones do and i don't think feeling the pedals will be a problem with any skate/bmx shoe. I also hate really flashy shoes like almost all Osiris shoes. Anyone tried the etnies fader vulc?

I LOVE The Look Of The New Lotek Nightwolfs Too! Lotek Used To Make THE BEST Shoes In BMX, Then They Went Through A Little "Blip" Of Sorts & People Lost Trust In Them. They Re-Designed Their Shoes From The Ground Up & The 2013 Models Were Supposed To Be Pretty Good. I Cannot See Why The 2014 Models Would Be Any Worse! gonna buy a set of almond shoes next, running a set of 20$ airwalks at the moment and they are pretty good, smell like stinky feet fast though.

I THINK non-vulcanized is longer lasting but will also take a little bit to get used to, and are harder at first.
Not 100% sure on that, just something I remember being told many years ago so I could be very wrong.
As for shoes, my Lotek Reeves signatures are amazing but at $70, they're a bit pricey. Worth it though in my opinion, I've had mine for 6 months now & the bottoms look nearly brand new. I do a lot of footjam tricks, but also don't drag my feet to stop. I usually stomp my feet or jam my foot in the tire without dragging it.
They're also a bit higher, being a mid-top shoe, and pretty comfy & didn't take long at all to get used to. Only problem I've had with them is the side ripped slightly from doing tailwhips & I guess it caught my pedal or crank arm just right & ripped. Only a small rip though so idc

im riding the osiris ruckers cuz they had a air bubble and high top. next im getting the half cab pros the new style ones. the grasshoppers were my all time fav shoe. i had the original all black leather ones
