Clear coat is exactly that, clear. So yes, you can use paint stripper and get rid of any "rust" showing and then clear coat it again. However, if I was you, I'd just leave it. You'll either A ) break it, or B ) get a new frame before the rust would ever be able to effect it.

I'm pretty sure if it broke and you could prove it was rust that did it, S&M would send you a new frame to replace it.

Well yeah, if the clear coat get scratched and stuff. My jackass friend took a chunk of clear off and theres a ton of rust. Also clear doesn't stick to raw metal very well either. I could just take chunks off with my finger.

Yeah, that's what sucks about clear coat. There's no clear primer that one aware of. So you're going to paint your Moose? Make sure you remove all the old clear coat, or you'll start missing chunks of your paint later. Also, it may dissolve a bit when you prime it and cause your whole paint job to look like baboon ass.

Yeah, its gonna be completely stripped. I'm just stripping, whipping it down, layers of paint, and then clear.

WOAH! "Layers of paint" ???? That's gonna add atleast an ounce of weight. That could get pretty heavy
