My kid is looking for a new bike, saw this on craigslist. Seller is unsure of what she has. Can anyone ID the logo?

Thanks

That's a Premium logo, but that stem isn't necessarily the one that came with the bike, so that's not definitely the make of the whole bike.

Thanks, not sure if we should chance it. It does have animal bars, 3 piece crank, but no clue about frame and forks.

BUT hey, That's none of my business.

It's an older stock stem off a Premium complete , used in about the 2009 models I'm pretty sure.

hmm, all chromoly frame & fork?

edit: answered my own question. looks like most of their completes are full chromo, but without knowing the model I couldnt be sure.

Alright so, being a slight bike nerd.... Judging by the sprocket size/design, tire tread, seat clamp style, bar shape, and even hub color, and the obvious one, the S on the headtube, that is a specialized, either one of the FUSE, GROM, or one of the P Series Starter Models.

That was a nice catch. And to OP, do you think you could possibly post more pictures? Like the serial number or something to that effect? Sometimes the little details like dropouts and seat clamp helps too.

I have a bad pic of the serial number, but have decided to pass on it anyhow. We (my kid & I) have been picking up parts here and there to build. Came across this in the process. It is really clean looking, but the unknown factor scares me away.

I appreciate all the info.

Not a problem at all! It's awesome to see a parent taking the time to get their kid (who I would imagine is starting out ) a good bike instead of a $90 walmart mongoose

oh, we had that bike already. it fell apart. He came to me with all his birthday money and asked to get a 'good' bmx bike. We started looking around, reading up on here (and there). Lotsa stuff on craigslist at decent prices. The $600 new bike is too out there for us. But if we can do it used for $150-200 and get to enjoy building it as well, thats even better.

for the young guns in this post that premium stem was the must have stem back in 2005 it didnt come on completes but they did have a cheaper looking one that did. And James it does seem to be a Specialized frame and their final year of their BMX program. u can add every updated part u wanted on that frame.

It looks like an older stock Specialized as said above.. that being said I WOULD get it. They are pretty cheap but I know a few people who went against the trend of getting an eastern complete and went with cheap sub $500 specialized completes. One of them on a p20 has been running the frame for 3-4years and learned flairs/flips on it, 360s off and over everything (pretty big drops, 4-5ft, over a huge 5.5ft tall box at the local park.)

I would say they are definitely a good bike to start on. Very little maintenance, well built, cheap.

Swing and a miss. Brand new, 350 MINIMUM. It is a Specialized. They are shop quality.

Factor in additional parts, and it would be more.

Based on the raised logo, it might not be their last year (roughly 09/10), as they revamped the BMX side and are making a comeback. Their first year back they did the raised logo on the HT, and now it is a cutout logo.

So this legitimately could be a 2012 or 2013 model frame. You could call Specialized with the serial number and they could track it for you.

I very much appreciate all the info given.

She did say she has had it at least 4 years.

But again, I think we are passing on it. My son has his heart set on building something. I am loving that he wants to go that route.
