Riding jeans??

Okay well the other week I ripped through 4 pairs of pants just riding. Today I just ripped another pair. 2 pairs were pretty tight and the other three were somewhat baggy, enough where I had full motion of my legs without stressing the fabric. I had Rude, Levis, Bullhead, and Dezims (or whatever.) Its becoming a huge problem to ride with jeans on now but I cant ride with shorts or super baggy pants whatsoever for whatever reason.

Anyway, all my pants ripped in the same spot, right at the seem on my crotch. I dont sag, my pants occasionally fall ever so slightly while im riding but not enough to make a difference in this situation. Size cant be the problem because two of the five pairs were a size bigger than what I wear.

I need a damn pair of pants that wont rip. This has never even been a problem for me before the other week.

I saw an ad for kevlar jeans ($100) way back when but I am actually considering them now, can anyone guide me to these? Would they help seeing as its the seem that keeps ripping?

Stitch them back up with fishing wire or such. Also i believe that you can find some of the Kevlar ones on CCS

If you're talking about the urban kreation jeans then they are ok. The only thing is that they are really thick and can get pretty hot. You also are not supposed to machine dry them so you have to air dry them which takes a while. But they are stretchy so they probably wouldn't rip so easy.

My Altamont jeans have always held up good. Just make sure whatever you get has some spandex in them, that should help with the blowouts.

Doesn't help at all. Comfortable, yes. The more spandexy pairs out of the 5 Ive gone through completely blew out. Like from my ass crack to the zipper. These bullheads are my favorite so far and their rip isnt too terrible so im going to attempt sewing them with dental floss and by that I mean im going to put a square foot patch of dental floss sewing on them. If they blow out again then I guess im just beyond fucked.

When I get a job im looking into those kevlar pants that were specially designed for BMX riding...

Tried it but all of the jeans in my size were way too baggy around the ankles. I have an amazing tendency to get my pants leg caught in my sprocket/brakes/tire. I roll up my pantsleg on slim fit, skinny fit I usually dont have to.

Im honestly half tempted to buy some gangster baggy ass jeans and cut the legs off them and sew on some slim fitting legs and then sew on skinny fitting shins/ankles. It would be ghetto as fuck but best riding pants EVER.

A. Gym shorts cant hold my wallet, knife, cell phone, and other things I always keep on my person when riding. I prefer not to ride with a bag since I usually dont go further than 5mins from my house.

B. I cant ride comfortably in them. I wimp out of so many tricks and just dont feel secure riding like that. I also hate cut-offs so I guess I just dont like riding bare-leg. I guess its kinda like how I cant ride without a hat on my head (unless its replaced by a helmet.) Im just weird like that.

I ride in cargo shorts with a multi tool and a knife. If you ride in short you will probably get used to them after a while.

Levis ceo said some shot about not washing his jeans for months at a time.i think it increases durability since the fibers aren't breaking down so fast from being washed all the time. Plus they keep the predicted shape and color that way.

What kind of Levi's were you wearing?

Levi's 511 have always been my favorite. Never once ripped a pair due to moving/bending weird, and they're still fairly tight on me but not nut-hugging tight. I typically wear the same pair for days straight without washing them too (Guy code 101: If they don't look dirty, they aren't dirty enough to wash yet haha) so I wear them much more at a time.

Now, falling & ripping them though has happened every now & then but nothing a little sewing job can't fix.

If they smell, it is time to wash them. Ladies don't like the smell of 4 day old ball sweat. Well...not the ladies you want around your balls anyway...

Seriously, Walmart and Target pants. Pretty cheap, last a while.

If you spend 8 bucks on a pair of pants and get a few months out of them, there isn't an issue. BMX should not be a fashion show, and too many kids think it is.

I recall when skinny pants were actually just girls pants, and I was mocked because I didn't wear them. Kids are stupid.

I like skinny-ish ankles/lower shins so shit doesnt get caught, decently roomy but not baggy legs, and a roomy crotch so THIS doesn't happen (not that its helped at all.) I usually get by with slim straight and just roll up the ankles. If i cant find anything BUT skinny jeans and i NEED riding jeans, i will get them but its pretty damn uncomfortable and even humiliating depending on how tight they are. Target has jeans that aren't too baggy for me to ride in (unlike walmart) but closest Target is a good while alway.

I hear ya. I have some from both sides of the fence. Usually I blow the crotch out of jeans. Fortunately it is summer, which means shorts. I rock knee pads so I can get some use from my huge Protecs now.

The "Denizen" brand from Target has been decent. You could also order online?

Me being a fat kid, skinny jeans look funny.
