Rim cutting tube valve..

My Gsport rim has cut two of my tubes' valves. I started putting tape near the bottom of the valve and the valve doesn't fully come up and the tires bulges just a tiny bit where the valve hole area is. It's always worked for me, but do you think it's necessary to file the hole? I'd really hate to do that.. The offset of the valve hole makes cutting of the tube valve even easier.

Dude, just take the sharp edge off. That's it. Never take any more metal off then absolutely necessary.

fine sand paper or a fine file and just rub the edges gently

Are you sure you're not just putting the tube in so that the valve is angled? check that, having the valve angled can cause the tube to rip open

Well, I have a Gsport Birdcage rim so the valve hole is offset with the spokes as I said, which is dumb.

I would use a small round file (small enough to get inside the valve hole) and gently file the edge then go over it with sand paper.
