Bummer dude when I go riding with a crew and we stop for food or at a store we leave one of the riders with the bikes to watch them

i did, they have them all pointed indoors. its really my fault, but that was pretty stupid to me.

Anyway, yeah, you should never leave your bike outside a shop. No matter where it is or how long it's for. It doesn't take long for somebody to walk past, hop on your bike and ride off... I left mine outside our local 'convenience store' one time when i stopped to buy a drink on the way to football, and the shop keeper said to me "You left your bike outside?!" and went and stood and watched it while i picked out my stuff and then took my money at the door to keep an eye on it the whole time I assume being a shopkeeper for as long as he has, he's seen a fair few bikes get stolen from outside his shop...

I always took mine in the store with me no one ever said anything about it get weird looks but rather weird looks then stolen bike

i take mine if i ever go in publix or sweetbay, etc. but this is the place i go everyday just to chill. my bike was literally right outside the door in plain sight where it always is.

Dude that shit sucks but yeah after having three bikes stolen from me i never leave my bike anywhere, even when im in clas i lock it up right by the door to keep watch on it or even inside class haha. around here bikes get stolen in a heart beat I've had friends go into liquor stores and literally got their bike stolen as they walked through the door. needless to say i now use enough locks for about three bikes on mine haha

It sucks but you should have been more wary. Never take chances with leaving your bike around.

You don't ride with a backpack? I always have mine for tools , spare chain , phone wallet mouth guard pads, water/beer .....backpacks are handy

In my back pack, i always have it on me when i go on rides its really convenient to have one so you dont have to carry everything in your bars or wherever

^i usually just shove everything i ride with in my pockets, i dont really carry much. not gonna be riding for a while it looks like... but when i start again ill probably carry a lock/tools

You'll find it online , or a bike shop or even bikers themselves. They just want money .

That shit blows man..... Sucks =( Damn bike thieves don't know how much time is put into the bikes. I'm building up a custom bike and if someone stole it when it's all built up I'd literally fucking cry on the spot....so much time and money put into something your passionate about so some dickwad can take it all away in a matter of seconds. I'd probably beat the shit out of someone if I caught them trying to take my bike.

Fuck people who take shit that isn't theirs...especially if its valuable stuff too someone. You'll be alright, hang in there.

Word of advice: Take your bike with you wherever you go.... my current bike is all beat up, brakes don't work, rims are un-true, grips on my handle bars are ripped but I still love it =P I carry my bike wherever I'm going. The farthest I leave it is a couple of feet if I'm trying to get something in front of me with my eyes on it and everything around me. Sometimes I go to the store and I swear I look like a fucking retarded trying to handle my helmet my bike and whatever I have in my hand... But shit it's better to look like a retard than too lose your bike.

I typically lock mine up to my other bikes IN MY APARTMENT, so the only way they can take them is all at once, which will be really hard to get 4 bikes out in one go, OR to bring the correct tools to cut them apart.

ALWAYS lock your bike. Even a cable lock.

Get a Camelback, take the water resivior out (or keep it in for water access anytime ), and put a snack and a few smaller tools AND A LOCK in it, perfect for street, they strap on tight, and don't budge.

Best investment I have made.

That sucks man, i have my first bmx stolen aswell. I literally never leave my bike outside. Its to risky here, fucking gypsies steal everything.

Definitely, I rode street with mine with and without water last summer, it is grea because it doesn't flop around at all.

I always pack heat when i ride. And keep one eye on my bike the entire time. One guy tried to steal it and i shot him 4 times in the shoulder. The man bled out on the ground and i wiped a line of his blood onto the toptube of my bike and let it dry and scratched DONT STEAL onto it.

I was going to get a subrosa combat lock just to carry around. I have a heavier cable lock but i leave that one at school. I told a cop about it and he really didnt show much interest, then i told him i put over 1200 into it, which surprised him quite a bit. They just think that its some transportation device that we really don't care about, when in reality the bike is really special and means a lot to us bmx riders

Yeah Definitely. I have a thicker cable At school and then carry a slightly thinner one in my back pack.
