When I first learned 180's on flat, after learning the roll out (Up and down a quarter) i just felt like i had no fakie skills whatsoever.
I actually ended up riding chainless for close to 6 months, getting used to the feeling of a coaster. When I finally got my fakies and halfcabs down, and I also got used to hop kickflipping with no chain, I never considered going back to casette.
I was 100p broke at this point, so I had no issues riding without a chain.
The Salt freecoaster (complete-wheel) was all of a sudden on a 40-or 50% discount out of nowhere, and I actually borrowed some of the money for it, aswell as spending the little savings I had, and I think I bought it for around 130$ at the time.
I think its has been close to 3 years now, riding it many seshes a week, in any weather, all seasons(in Denmark even). Though I have been really good at maintenancing(unsure if thats is a word) it, aswell as being sort of good to it (not doing huge drops, nor Wall-E's & back tire bumps, since that has given the rim its very first and only bend) - It actually still holds up! - The hub it self feels very smooth, and it has a decent amount of slack, the axle is straight, and
my hubgaurds are a nice fit. It happens it engages on you, but IMO thats more riders technique, than the hub.
I have seem people litterally doing some of the worst chrashes I've seen, just hopping onto my bike, expecting pedal pressure, and the falling on top of the bike, not roling at all, cause of the ammount of slack/no chain enaged
So do warn your friends about that, if you ever own this one!
Mainly posted this, so that if people have questions about the wheel/hub. I will try my best to give an objective and honest answer.
