Sealed bottom bracket noises

I recently rode my bike like 2 miles away from my house to ride a park and when i got back home i realised that it made a popping sound when i cranked it so i took off the chain and spinned the cranks and the popping sound was coming from the bottom bracket how do i fix this

sounds like bearings went bad or something is loose. can you feel it when you pedal?

I'd say take your entire drive apart, re-grease, and put it all back together. Funny thing, I just had to do this because I had a creaking noise in my cranks.

Keep in mind, it COULD be your pedals gone bad, but I doubt it.

Yeah I don't think it could be my pedals because I have only ridden them for 6 mon.... okay maybe it is my pedals.

so the popping sound is still there even when your chain is not on the bike or it's not being pedaled? Sounds like you just need a new BB bearing, or bearings. Take the cranks off and pull the spindle out and try to spin the bearing with your finger, if you can't or they're very hard to turn, then you need new bearings. If you can spin them but they feel notchy, you can try greasing them and seeing if that makes the problem go away, but it sounds like one or both of the bearings could be shot

Sounds like the tube spacer isn't long enough so your bearings have taken too much lateral pressure. Regreasing them won't help as they'll already be worn. Loosen a crank arm and see if the noise goes away/they spin easier. If it does, put extra spacing inbetween the bearings
