This is that chain that is supposedly the strongest half link chain. Which is like saying you are the tallest midget.
But really, i like how it looks and i am sure it is really strong! Why didn't you get an Odyssey Keychain?

I run the regular Shadow Halflink and it stretched like a virgin. I've had it for around 3-4 months, and I think it's just now finishing it's stretching.
Plates almost look thicker than the Keychain

Actually in theory that should improve it greatly.
The main downfall with half link chains is that they stretch & break way too much. The new Shadow chain eliminates that problem by making the links NOT pre-bent like they normally would be. Instead they are just machined, rather than bent, greatly reducing the stretch and chance of it breaking from the metal being stretched out. Which adds to the cost.
Probably the only time I'll ever defend a Shadow product.

But the bends are still there in theory. That's where all the stress will concentrate. It will still most likely actually stretch, unlike full link chains which are virtually impossible to stretch. This is still not even close to an ideal design.
But a lot of the time when I say something's a shit design, people think I mean it's completely unrideable and won't work. This is almost never the case. This is a shit design, but it will work for most people. It's just not even on the same level as something like the Keychain.
It's kinda like Apple's Magic Mouse. It looks kickass and reading about it gives you a boner, but using it is shit.
Edit: Also, I didn't mention that this chain is still 3-4 ounces heavier than a regular full link or Keychain, and is more expensive.

Yeah but they aren't actually bent like other half links
[LINK TO IMAGE]
Bottom right image you can see that, but doesn't look like it in the above images. Actually looks pretty ugly in my opinion. I never said it wouldn't still break though, just that the design is improved from other half links and SHOULD be stronger, but I could also be completely wrong since even though the links are beefier, they still cut material out of it to make up for the "Bends"
No doubt about it that full links are indeed stronger though, same goes with the Keychain. I wish the Keychain came in black or I would get that if my Bluebird ever shits the bed.

Yeah, I know what you mean, but like you said, in the real pictures the forging makes a relatively messy looking part. I would probably call it the best half link chain, but I could definitely be wrong. I just don't see why companies keep pushing the half link design. But, to be fair, my Keychain isn't nearly as smooth as my 510 was. But I prefer strength over smoothness when it comes to my chain.

It wont be done until the links are almost completely straightened and pushing on eachother (causing wear on the pin hole.) Halflink probs.

Starts with flawed design and builds from there.
Should have beefed up a full link chain, added a "supreme" half link pre fitted and call it a day.
I think Shadow has addressed the stretching issue with half link chains fairly well with this design. On the other hand, I have never understood the purpose of a chain comprised completely with half links. As Mychaylo said, it would be better to use a full link chain with one well designed half link. You only need one half link in a full link chain to have the same adjustability of a half link chain.

I've had full links that made a full circle sideways. I have had a half link do that too. Took 5 years on that half link, never broke. Took 6 months on the full link, snapped 6 times.
My experience.
Why don't we all go back to the 4-wheeler/Motorcycle chains from the mid-2000's? Then you WON'T break them. I did sprocket grinds on EVERYTHING for like 2 years on one of those, barely scratched it.
Oh wait, beacuse those were too heavy.

I still have my kmc 415 and a 39t 10mm solid sprocket somewhere haha.
I have a KMC 415H somewhere. I know a dude who just bought chains at a farm supply store that were intended for machinery. They lasted well.

I got this chain thinkin it was great
its only for wide sprockets, big teeth it was not compatible with a slimmer 4130 demolition sprocket,
Also when you remove or add links the pins warp the plates on the way out causing gaps and the plates pushing outward to the edge of the pins, its super wide so the design is not universal. its heavy, looks cool.
get the length right the first time and stick with it its fine no issues.
but its compromised once you push pins out too prob why they add another master pin
