I am new to bmx, I've only been riding for about 2 weeks, been trying out some friends bikes and just peopel at the park and stuff to see what I like.
If i intend to eventually ride brakeless, should I just start out that way?

No, start with brakes. Don't take them off until you have good bike control, so I'd recommend waiting a month or two.

A good rule of thumb is "don't do it just because other people do."

I agree with above. Run brakes for a while until you get more experience. It's a huge difference going between the two. And yes don't do what everyone else does

Know how to hop some stairsets and drops first , the worst thing doing brakeless is if you pedal at something 90% chance there's no backing down now . With brakes it gives you that comfort to stop .

Keep your brakes on for at least a year, untill you can learn proper bike control. If you really want to ride without brakes, try keeping them on, and not using them. Practice stopping without pulling the lever to see how it feels. Be the original one out of your friends. Keep the brakes for a while, because right now all your going to do is hurt someone else, or yourself. Too many people ride brakeless before they are ready, and smash into people at the skatepark. This makes us all look bad, and keeps us banned from parks.

Brakeless is fun but only if you can handle your bike first

|

You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start, to be great...

Ride brakes for awhile. You won't learn proper bike control without them.

I figured out brakes help rotate frontflips
