Someone local to me is selling this 2011 WeThePeople Envy. Is it worth buying due to its condition? If so, how much do you think is reasonable?

I wouldn't offer more than $300. The owner has obviously neglected this bike. Have you ridden it yet? Check if the wheels need truing. See if you can even get the wheels to come off. Ask for the brakes. If he doesn't have them, the price comes down.

Here is one on ebay for $549 in great condition and Odyssey rim for comparison.

He's asking $200 cash local pickup as is...no brakes. I haven't had the chance to ride or checkout in person as it's a little over an hour away. Trying to decide if it's worth the trip.

That's not a bad deal. Hell, the cranks, sprocket, and stem are worth that much new. I'd worry about that back wheel situation. Wouldn't be a bad fixer-upper.

Buy it for 200$ because it's a 1000$ bike

If I were going to fix this up, I’d get a black Demolition Rogue rear wheel, black Odyssey Evo II brake kit, black Subrosa Forever TL stem, gum Eclat Zap grips, Eclat Surge PC pedals clear black with gold spindle, and a Cult 510 chain. I’d also get a tripod seat and post; probably the brown leather Mutiny Classic seat and black Demolition post. And to top it off, a pair of black Shadow Valor tires.

But, all this bike really needs is a new chain, brakes, and back wheel.

$200 is well worth it. From what I can tell it wasn't rode seriously for too too long. Looks like most of the wear on it is just average from riding it around. I dont see anything that indicates it was beaten and bashed. Seems as if it had just been poorly taken care of. Replace the chain, hub bolts, pedals, and maybe driver and bearings and it should be good as new. Basically an extra $50-150 ontop of what youre getting it for. Its a really good deal. Go for it. Oughta clean up nicely.

Looks worth it. What I'd do is go there with the $200 but only have $150 in my wallet and the other fifty in smaller notes in my pocket. Look the bike over and if it looks ok offer him $150 cash and see if he goes for it. If not try and barter to try and get it less than $200. Worst thing happens is you buy it for $200 best solution you get it cheaper

even at $400 it seems to be "questionable price"

just make sure the front/back hubs are good, also the cranks

i think they come with Eclat Tibias stock, and either odyssey or eclat front/rear hubs

According to the 2011 WTP catalog, the hubs are dubbed "new Eclat". They became the Pulse hubs.

...."questionable price", do you mean too good to be true or something wrong?
