okay so my bike's top tube when measured from the center of the head tube to the center of the seat tube measures out to 20.25", my arm length comes out to about 20 inches. so when i drop down and pull back for a manual, I can sorta feel it it WANTS to pull up but its just not their ya know? im thinking if i had a 20.75 or a 21 or somewhere between, manuals would be happening. oh and with shoes on im basically 5'5" 5'4.5" without shoes.

and my ass is nearly touching the rear tire. sooo idk

(edit: remeasured, tt is 20.25")

Whats your chainstay length? Where is your axle at on the dropouts? What rise are your bars? A TT length increase when make it even more difficult for your front tire to leave the ground.

This, 20.5" is just about perfect for height. I agree it has to do more with CS length.

A 21 would make riding harder. I'm 5'9 and ride 20-20.75. Manuals have more to do with bars and chainstay length than tt. If anything I found my 20" 13.75 is easier to manual.

I'm 6'3" I like 20.5-20.75 frames I thought about getting a 21" frame and give it a try but I'm pretty comfortable on the smaller frames with a tall front end.

^this i ride a 21.25" TT w/ 14.25" CS tires don't like to leave the ground unless it's off a jump. It was much easier bringing up the front ends on my 20.5" TT. You really do have to give your bike a good yank to get that tire off the ground. You do used to it, I prefer it. But I'm not very technical anymore, I just like to curb jump and air out because nowadays because of injuries.... Lots and lots of injuries.

I found when I had a 20.5 I smashed my knees allot more on my stem then a 20.75, 20.8 or a 21 , the quick spin was nice but I'm only 5'10

im riding a shadow ravager front load stem with shadow local bars in 8.75" and their tilted forward slightly. and my chainstays measure out toooooooooooooooooo

13.5" chainstay (when measured from center bb to center of slammed axle dropout)
(but my wheel is slightly back so from bb center to rear wheel axle center is 13.75")

I'm 5'6" ir 5'7", I ride a 21.25. I got the frame for $35. It's harder to hop, but I learned to not be a bitch and I'm hopping higher. But, it's so much better for gaps and flowy stuff. I see why I've never seen a trails frame shorter than 20.75.

So, the backend is plenty short, so you should just quit being a bitch and pull up.

You're good, dude. No need for a longer frame. Maybe shorter chainstays but it may not be completely necessary. Devon Smillie has like a 13.85" cs slammed on his signature frame and he is amazing at forwards and backwards manuals.

Any of your mates ride a 20.75 or 21" frame? I'm 6'4 and ride a 21" frame which feels perfect unless on the dirt the it feels cramped tongue ask your mates if you can try their bikes and see if that feels good to you. In the mean time pull harder and get your ass over that tyre haha
