What do you run and what do you prefer?

I run a dirt monster 2.20 front and a dirt monster 2.190 back

I like it because it feels a lot quicker

I'm gonna need bigger bars

2.25 Aitkens front and back feels perfect, before I had a 2.25 Aitken in front and 2.10 path in the back. Im not a fan of huge tires 2.30 is probably the biggest I would ride

I run 2.1 tires front and back. I don't feel like I need to go too much bigger because I don't usually take a bunch of impact n my bike. I used to run a 1.95 in the back and noticed that when i switched to 2.1, manuals became a bit harder/less controlled. The skinnier back tire gives you more fine tuned control when it comes to carving in a manual. Obviously now I'm used to the 2.1 in the back but probably wouldn't go any bigger. Maybe just in the front. (Also fat tires can make spinning out of grinds a little harder since your tire will rub on the ledge or rail a bit more than a skinny tire would.

Running 2.35 mtt tires front & rear on one bike,
Running 2.3 demo momentum up front & 2.2 alianation graffiti in the back on my other bike.

I like both setups for different reasons / tricks...But I can't imagine ever wanting to ride anything smaller than 2.2

I like my tires to always be about the same size. I didnt like the tire setup much in my profile pic because it makes me feel too far back on my bike and raises the front end and makes it a lot less responsive because the 2.2 is a lot less beefy. My Hawk and aitken are like the same size so i like it a lot. I prefer them big if my frame can handle it haha. Im hoping my frame can fit a Cult 2.2 in gum! haha

I prefer fatter tires, and I get my tires the same size front and rear.

I hate demo momentum tires they suck the bike feels really sluggish and I can't 180 on bikes that have demo momentum tires... Doesn't matter how light the bike is...

2.1.... I would go bigger, but I prefer 2.1. Fatter tires make my bike feel heavier and more sluggish.

2.10 front and back. I used to run 2.25's but when I went to buy new whitewalls my LBS only had 2.10 in stock. I much prefer 2.10 cause there's no tyre rub to slow you down on grinds, don't see myself going back to fat tyres anytime soon.

fat in the front skinny in the back

If a front tire determines if you can 180 or not you should quit life. Also the tread on a tire really makes no difference on a trick like that. Maybe the fatness would if you're used to running skinny tires?

Im 15 years old, I suck at BMX, I live in Texas.

That's all.

2.35 in front, 2.20 in rear. Working fine for me. May go down a size on both when the tread wears out just to see what I prefer.

2.20-25 front, 2.10 rear, no more, no less. This is my preferred for life. I love the feel of skinny on hard impacts.. that, and as jay said, 'SPEED'. all bout the fukn speed bros.

I prefer skinny tyres, 2.1-2.2" up front, 1.85-1.95" on the back. Fat Tyres feel sluggish to me.

Actually a lot of things did factor in... The bars where to wide and to much rise and the frame was to big but the tires do make bikes feel sluggish and I run 2.10 front and back right now... So ya and the tread on a tire does make a difference. Also momentums are very trendy because they're huge and they make sliders easier that is another reason I hate them

2.25 Stunner lo front, 2.1 odyssey path p lite rear.

I'm old enough to remember when 1.95s were the biggest tires out there and you had to run them at 75psi plus to feel ok, so I'd say that bigger tires are a big improvement over what used to be, they're okay to run at lower psi without blowing up so they're way more comfortable.

But I do kinda think they're going too far with 2.35-2.40s they're getting too bulky and don't carve at all and just kind of look ridiculous imo.

|

10/9/2013 5:26 AM

2.1 front and back for me. wouldnt go to much bigger, just means less room on grinds

tread does make a difference, not much but some. I ride tires with little or most of the time none (Im riding comets front and back) and when i ride a tire with tread it feels a little bit slower and the slide outs seem to grip a little. I do like the little squeek noise i see with people on tires with tread hahaha It would mostly be the noise of the tread going under that bugs me
